i couldnt find anything on this thru the search ...so has anyone ran these new compound tires and how do they compare to the proline or pitbulls...i want the 1.55 irok's but need to get some feedback first...let me know anything you've heard and for sure if you have tested yourselfd....thank you gentleman:mrgreen:

I have been testing the new compound 1.9 Iroks and they are pretty awesome! The carcass of the tire is on the thicker side, which may be something to take into consideration. If you're rig is in the 7-10 lb. range, I think the new compound Irok tires will be right up your alley. I have never seen the proline tires first hand so I can't give a comparison there. The Pitbulls are a nice tire too, just have to do some foam tuning if you're running a heavier rig.

IMO the Pro- Line g8 compound isnt any better than the x3 from RC4WD.

I dont think he was talking about the x3 compound. There is a new and greatly improved compound from RC4WD.

I know, I'm comparing it to what I have ran so if the compound is even better, I wouldn't think twice about going RC4WD over proline

which tire are your refering too out of curiousity. ive been looking at the new class 1 baja claws in x2ss
I am running the MTZ's on my class 1.. The truck seems to hang with the pitbulls traction wise but with less height and a little less capable truck its harder to really compare the 2 side by side..
Stu is running the claws and they seemed Good to..
Anyway you look at it either tire is far out in front of any other class 1 tire.. pitbull and proline dont have a legal option for class 1 so they really dont matter that much..

I'm runnin' the MTZ's on a leaf spring trailfinder chassis and they just flat out hook up! By far the best Class 1 tire available. I have a set of claws on the way and I'm sure they'll be just as good.
As previously posted, it's hard to compare with Pitbulls or Swampers cause they're Class 2 tires. Although IMO the rubber compound of the new RC4WD tires is on par with the Pitbulls which is slightly better than the Prolines but that is just an opinion.

That's what I wanted to know if they are soft and feel like the 1.9 pitbulls and hook up just as well then I'm gonna try out the 1.55 iroks thanks guys

im sorry, please correct me if im wrong, but i dont see the 1.55 Iroks availible in the new X2 SS compound? i believe the only tires available in X2 are the MTZ's and Baja Claws? the 1.55 Iroks are advanced X3, which , im assuming, they are an improvement over the original compound(like rockcrushers), but not the same as the new class 1 tires...
however, when RC4WD does release all they're tires in the new X2 compound, my bank account is gonna go into the red...
cant wait to give RC4WD all my $$$

I personally haven't run them on my rig but my buddy has the claws and was able to follow my rig with new 1.9 pit bulls with minimal issues. At least when it comes to traction considering the height and rig differences between our rigs.
Oh yes you are right the 1.55 iroks do say x3 or whatever I thought that was the new softer compound... See I'm glad I posted I wouldve been pissed I'll wait until they have the iroks in the new compound or do what I had originally planned .... Gotta keep it hush hush but you'll see real soon

I wanted to bump this thread up again because I'm interested in this question. I'm running 1.9 proline tsl's and I LOVE them. My only gripe is I'd like a bit more height. So i'm REALLY interested in the rc4wd Iroks in the new x2 ss compound. Now that they've been out for a while does anyone have experience with both?
I have the new iroks on and i love them. my buddy has the pitbulls on his and on a side by side on rock the pits grip just a little more than the irocks but i think w foam tuenng they are "almost" equal but we have completely diff rigs. As of the tsls, same thing a little on the short side but seemed to do well on the honcho but bothe were light wieght rigs. mine is a pig in comparison. This is all in 1.9 so take it as you will. I do have also th 1.9 3x baja claws 4.75 tall and i used them for a while and i did like them w the proline memory foams. Im workin on the iroks tuning now and it seems that the stck foams are just a hair stiff and the memory foam is way soft for the wight of my rig. a two stage foam may be perfect w the irocks for a heavy rig. this is mine w mem foam

I really don't know. I do have a heavy rig and I'm running 1.9 tsl's with stock proline foams. They really squat quite a bit. But they just flat out seem to stick to everything. I just wish I had a bit of extra height. Maybe I should stop crying and just buy some Iroks and see if I like em. It's probably the only way I'll solve this.

Here's a pic of my rig with the prolines. It's at just about 6 1/2 pounds now but probably closer to 6 when this pic was taken. You can see I have quite a bit of sag in the front tires.
