RcBros Berg Build

After switching to a hitec servo the holmes 45T can I was able to fit a 12T pinion. Before I did that 13T was the smallest I could go. Every little bit counts.

Cool, That's good to know..

Thanks "thumbsup"

Just got back from the Red Rock, gonna tear apart the rig again and take some better pics. for everyone, there was alot of jump off's and hard falls this weekend so they went through some good abuse:twisted:"thumbsup".

I can tell you i have no Problem with the locker

Thank you William

... i hope you have some more ideas for the Berg

Replacement gears will be in the mail tomorrow morning!! Thank you everyone for being so patient and understanding with this issue!!

Attention 4th gear customers, for those wanting to kick me in the face, please pm me, I don't blame you!! The original issue with our berg 4th gear was the bearing collar was not recessed far enough, this issue kept the cases from closing.

Our machinist took my batch of lockers and re cut this section of the locker fixing this issue. I then double checked axle fitment using both stock and 300's, then I double checked the cases closing.

Upon installing my personal set today, I discovered that once the cases are screwed tight, the 4th gear is about 2 thousandths 2 wide and comes in contact with the opposing gear in the case when rotating. This issue simply never crossed my mind because this is the first issue I've ever had in 3 years of making our own parts.

I have called the machinist and we are starting from scratch and creating a new batch. I'm not sure what happened but a few are good and a few are bad.... I am working vigorously to fix all these issues and understand any and all frustration that may arise. Just please know, I will make it right for you. If you wish to have a refund please let me know, if you want new lockers, please let me know. I will do what needs to be done to make it right!

on a side note, got my rig back together today and added our knuckles, 4th gears, SDS 300 3rd gears and 86jeep steering link!

The berg got some love this weekend. Went over to SDS customs rc castle to do some work.

Started out by machining a new front axle housing for the servo, added a set of 300M 3rd gears, Our lightweight 4th gears, our berg specific 0* knuckles and a 86 jeep steering link.

Fully RTR I'm sitting at 5lbs 10.5 ounces with a 3 3/4" belly height. The little crawling i've done with it, I think I've finally got it back to where it was before I decided to change everything all at once.

Looks great are those 1/10 scale on-road springs? Man that rear tube looks really scary thin......
Love the steering knuckles look hella sweet!!

Ya, wondering how long that last. So far I've put it through some nasty hits, falls and carnage with no problems. Gunna run it hard for another few hours before I tear it down.

Just seen you were having problems out of the 4th gears. Sending you a PM about my order.

Will reply here just shortly!

Well I have to say I put these lockers through the ultimate test today. Almost took first today, but snapped a long super 300 on the 15th gate of our 20 gate final. Managed to get through 18, but wasn't enough. So Mann 2nd/ 3rd gear and RC bros locker took the abuse, but the 300 couldn't. Not bashing the 300's, but seems kinda crazy that the aluminum held up. Thanks RC bros for these great lockers"thumbsup" On a good note still took 2nd only 2 points out of first. So if anyone needs a short side super 300 get ahold of me:mrgreen:

Later,
Farmer

Glad they are holding up for you, I will hopefully have the new updated lockers on the site tonight after unpacking and doing orders!

I put the new style lockers in my rig about a week ago and have ran hard everyday since.

They are holding up wonderful on a 4s lipo! I noticed a large gain in punch and wheelspeed also.

Glad to hear everything is working well for everyone! I'd like to apologize 1 more time for those who had received the bad set of lockers. I will hopefully have an update to my personal berg this evening!
