I wanna be Dave
Hey guys,
For the second time in two weeks my computers have been hit with a "Virus" after cruising RCC. My AVG Antivirus could not stop them. When I contacted them, they said that it wasn't a Virus...but a "rogue program" The program is windows 7 internet security 2012 and looks legitimate saying you're not protected and that threats have been found on your computer. You'll know it if it hits you. It will completely shut you down. I couldn't even open task manager to close processes out. What I used to remove it was Malwarebytes download (the free version worked for a bit, but I purchased the download for about 25 bucks) I downloaded it to my thumbdrive from my wife's computer and ran it on the other two. All seems well now. And don't think for a moment I'm trying to peddle anything. My honest thoughts are that the same assholes that fix the problem are probably the ones creating it in the first place. I just want to keep my computer running with as little outlay of cash and energy as I can. It's so madening that I pay for virus protection, and something like this disables me and the answer they give me is that their solutions are outdated every single day. Be prepared if this hits you. If you're tech savvy, I think there are ways to get around it, but if you're like me...digging around in the belly of your computer is only going to cause more problems. Best of luck and be prepared!!!
