I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but here is a good source for screws of all sizes. They are fairly cheap and are available in a variety of materials.

On some crawlers i see the shock springs off, what the reason for that.

Hey again. To introduce myself I am well new to the RC world and I want to get into crawling and making a scale of a truck. I want to say first off that this site has sealed the deal after watching alot of crawler vids but it was only until I found this site with all the great information on it and the wonderful walk through of all your awesome RCs. So i want to say THANKS!

I am still going through all this great information but was wondering if anyone can help me out with some more (basic) information. It would help me get started and everything. So I was wondering...

1. A general FYI on the lingo you guys have. like ECT? umm what are the brands? things of this.

2. How do you start? I was thinking a good place to start would be (after I know what i wanna make) a parts list? but what is all involved what kinda parts would i need. I have a general idea on the basics axles, body, chassis, shocks, ect. but what are some of the things that maybe you all might leave out of building your rigs that well comes natural to you?

3. how do you water-proof?

4. What is involved in setting up the remote control to the car? This is probably what scares me the most about starting a project like this.

Well I will continue to read all this great information you have. I hope I'm not reasking these questions I just didnt see any clear information.

Using stock TLT yokes.

I'm new to driveline stuff and so I ordered yokes that don't fit on TLT & HL outputs :roll:

I should have bought these ?

But I did bought these:

Traxxas part # 4928X.

I've ordered the white ones allready but in the meantime I'dd try to make it work with what I have now ...

Cutted the stock TLT yoke, drilled a 10mm hole in the Traxxas yoke (TLT yoke = 10mm outer diameter) lined up a 3mm scrup screw that has to be cutted to the right lenght yet. The screw first goes trough the plastic yoke and then slides nice into the TLT's (the M3 tapped hole that's there)

The 10mm drillbit I used is worn out so the drilled hole didn't came out that perfect. Cured that with JB-weld ... pics:

Don't know if this is done before, couldn'd find it, hope it adds some tech ?

Thats called droop suspension. It gives little to no up travel and lowers the ride height. People normally use around 100wt shock oil for this, but for mine I am running 30wt rear and front with internal springs up front. Hope this helps.

here is a trick that i discovered today, Well i poped my rear drive shaft twice today on my ax10, so what i ended up doing is using some 1/2 inch cpvc pipe and cut it into a ring to go around the ears on your drive shaft. I run mine hard fro about 30min and no more brakes yet!"thumbsup"Sorry for the crappy pics, but i think you can get the idea.
