Ok I think I have gone through most of the threads and can't find anyone saying who has or were they got the brace on the rear Axle in carbon fiber. Any help would be great thanks

They arent needed. The mount is for a rear mounted servo to activate a turning brake that never came about.

True they may not be needed, but it's more bling to show off .

Just do like a lot of other people have done and get the VP axle topper. No brace ever needed anymore

Are those on the T1E site or vender section?

So is the brace really needed or not? Any weight I can shed from my pig would be good but I don't want to weaken it?

I'll take one but didn't see them on your web site. Also I have the Rock Show SS, what is the differance in weight between the carbon fiber and delrin? May have to order that aslo.

not needed, lol, I will take 2!! I think it helps, my rear gears clicked real bad when bound up and putting the factory one back on stopped this immediately!

Nope it's just one more thing to add weight and hang up on rocks. If your gears are poping there's ways to fix it.

No need for it.
Interesting, I've read both, "it's needed" as well as "not needed" here on the forum (when running the stock plastic axle top).
I run the stock aluminum one, then again, I'm not worried about the slight weight penalty (the rig is still better than I am;-)).

Yeah that's why I was asking. Some people say it's not needed but then every rig I've seen has one on it. Maybe I'll cut down the stock one a bit more and see if any problems popup.

Thats what the guys in my local club said about it, that it helps support the rear from the gears slipping in a bind.

Not sure where that thinking comes from. Take it off and you still have the same 2 screws holding the trans case to the axle top. Put the brace on and all you did was add a horizontal brace from the trans case to the axle top. If anything I think it'd add some lateral strength to the left side axle tube (other than the obvious to mount a servo) but other than that it's not helping to hold the trans case to the axle case at all.

According to Brandon, it is needed as the brace is one of the main supports for the 5x8mm bearing on the top shaft.

Quote from the "Tips & Tricks" sticky

Another VERY important thing not to miss during the build is the installation of the rear axle plate (AX30559). Without this plate installed with the correct hardware the main support of the 5x8 bearing for the final gears is compromised. Immediate failure of the gears will occur without the hardware and rear axle plate installed! Please dont skip this step "thumbsup"

Sounds a bit feasible, but if the brace is stuff enough, you now have the 3 screws applying clamping for to that one confer of the link mount as opposed to just one. Also, the right side of the link mount has the additional screws of the gear case being bolted through the axle halves to provide additional clamping force. So IMO, it is needed, as it balances out the clamping forces applied to the link mount to the axle halves

Meh, to each their own. I'm plastic top no rear brace, 35t on 3s and have bound the hell out of it and my axial gears are happy as can be. More effective solutions to keep gears from popping IMO. You can lead the sheep to water but can't make em drink.
