Redcat Gen 8 6x6

The Dog House is a good idea. I am not a pop culture buff but a dog house sounds like it would fit on a Beavis-mobile.

Beyond that, there is crazy potential for a Mad Maxx inspired rig.

100%

At some point everyone needs a 6x6 in their life
Mad Max or Trials 6x6 is kinda what I was thinking. I'm going to probably paint the body a flat color of some sort.

Thanks for the comments guys. This is my first 6x6. I was going to get the trx6 but I hate that body and being a 6x6 body, probably hard to get rid of. And the axial doesn't have portals which I really wanted on a 6x6. I also wanted a rear axle that had a separate drive from the center axle. They perform better that way.

I hear ya on all counts. The body on the X6 is just okay. I actually really appreciate the way Axial hinged the body on their 6x6 MOG so that the body just flips up. I just really appreciate the quality of the Traxxas product. I am currently putting together my TRX4 sPORT kit. They really did a nice job on it!

I haven't tried a sport kit but I have had 2 of the regular kit. I still have 1 trx4 and it's what I use for my all round rig. Mainly because it usually doesn't break.

Dog house just about done. Put some mirrors on and couple other things.

I also put a Club 5 RC link set and servo relocation.

Beavis never looked so focused. Did you actually cut an opening between the cab and the doghouse? Curious to see what you do with the space between the rear shock tower?

electronics?

Everything is under the cab and dog house. The battery and transfer case were visible which is why I put in the dog house. It is open between the cab and dog house.

I figured that :ror:, I should have been more clear. I noticed a Hackamoto motor in one pic, but what sort of power and control is tucked in there?

It's the 21t. It's not as good as the Holmes but it's ok. I have a stock ESC in it yet but I will be going with either a hw1080 or AXE brushless.

Surprisingly with the extra weight and axle the motor doesn't even get warm on 3s. I use a Flysky FS-GT5 as the stock radio could use better throttle potentiometer.

Servo is a ds3218 but I will be upgrading it as it's not up to the Job with 6 tires pushing into stuff and it stalls. I have a 638oz JX servo from Amazon. Have had good luck with them and for the price you can't go wrong.

Also just wanted to say the Club 5 Racing servo relocation is great. Everything gets lined up where it should be. Stearing angle and precision is greatly improved.

The chassis looks well worked in! :)

Do you find the extra length on that unit smooths out your ride high speeds? Could be a lot of fun to go brushless. Perhaps a HH Revolver?

It does smooth out pretty good and less tippy so that is why I was thinking brushless. I have a 550 3300 Axe that would work really well.

Crap, now I really want a 6x6:ror:

That is a solid power plant

A little cab modification. I finally found my cut up clear body. Put the back on. I wish I had a roof but I will make do.

Did a little painting and trying to decide if I should put the Mercedes diesel in it.

It's not pretty but it's fun. It will do for now.
