4lbs 9oz, - I have a few ideas for weight reduction including smaller batteries.

Weight reduction Idea that I got from CrawlrKing,
I switched from This

To This

Shaved a few more grams with some RPM Revo ends w/alluminium balls,
dyed green, then shaved with a razor to make a smoother transition to the link.

And removed two .25" full rings of knuckle weight,
so I'm at 4lbs 5oz, with a few things left to trim up.

In search of more weight savings I just ordered some Turnigy Nanotech 3S 460mah batteries, and Mini T-connectors.
also switched out a few more rod ends for RPM w/aluminium balls,

I unwrapped the BEC and reduced it's size by removing the fiberglass plank. Then I re-bundled my dual FXR's, BEC and receiver in one block that fits snug in the cab, and ditched the skid tray.

It would've been great, but I screwed up & burnt out my receiver after I hooked the battery up to the motor leads by mistake.
because I'm using bullet connectors on everything and I couldn't tell them apart well enough.. so I'm switching the battery leads to mini-T.

So anyways I have a couple spare receivers on the way from ebay.
at least they were cheap. but I'm missing out on some end of season crawling here.. it's already snowed once, but it's dry enough today :|

hi, the part number of "silver de racing wheels"?

Robotron...you might try ditching the VP lockouts and possibly the C-hubs for some quick weight reduction. Aluminum and Ti hardware would be the next step...

well it's been a while since I've posted an update,

got my new 450mah batteries in,
they're around 1oz lighter than my 850's,

got some proper Axial screws for my C-hubs & lockouts,
So no more mis-matched hardware..

Was trying to tidy up my electronics, and I screwed up my FXR's while attempting to re-shrink them,
-So I sent them out to Chris_The_Battery_Man for repair. "thumbsup"

..Think I'm going to Ask for some VooDoo's for Xmas!

Got my FXR's back and the repair/resmash looks great,
Had to replace one of them, luckily I had a spare.
I Just ordered a Tekin Hotwire to update the firmware on the new/used FXR because they're not in sync.

So I decided to keep the Rowdy Tray, but only as a skid plate..
there just wasn't enough room on the tray for my electronics when my suspension was at full squish.

so here's everything wired up in the cab, ESC's RX & BEC, it all fits great and I can still access all of the servo plugs & ESC buttons.
I think the affect on front rear balance will be minimal, and I can make up for it by adding some knuckle weight if necessary. The COG stays about the same as having it on the tray.

It looks like there's something going on with your front uppers...in the pic of the suspension compressed and looking at the rig from the front the chassis isn't centered over the uppers. I guess it could be the pic, but it looks too far off.

I noticed that too... almost looks like the front upper on the servo side is longer than the other side...

Hey good eye, thanks
we were in a hurry when we made the links, lol
I hadn't noticed that but now that you mention it,..
I just measured the links and one side is a little longer.
:lmao:I guess I need to square things up a bit, not sure how I missed that..
but it was only an 1/8" off

.. also need to shave down the centered ball ends, they're a little wider than the stock spacer & ball set. so it's bowing the chassis sides out.

I'd probably leave the ball ends just like they are. Bowing the chassis out a little isn't going to hurt anything...and if they work to your liking then it's not worth the effort "thumbsup"

"thumbsup"Lookin sweet dude. After checking out your pix, i picked up my xr, only to find one of my front uppers was a tad longer & keeping my front end off center too! So an inadvertent thanks is in order!

Right on,.. I got the links squared away,
and My Tekin Hotwire arrived, so the ESC's are programed.

I was having trouble for a minute there.. with the motors not starting at the same time, or turning the same speed, until I noticed the lights on the FXR's were going opposite directions when I applied throttle.
So I put that channel on NORmal instead of REV, and switched the rear motor leads around backwards, and now they're starting together like they should.

good deal, nice to have this thing up & running again!
I guess the plan now is to work on paint & graphics for the body side panels.

I'm having an intermittent problem,
I'm not sure if it's a Radio or ESC or Wiring related.

I plug in my batt and start driving around, everything's fine.. all my control functions work right.

Then all of a sudden, my front dig turns on By It's Self,
and the back tires start spinning in reverse at full throttle.
it does this for 5-10 seconds and then it's back to normal.

It does this randomly, like a couple minutes apart.
And it always malfunctions in the exact same way.
..doesn't seem to matter if you're only 10 feet away or across the yard with the remote.

Here's my setup:

Hacked GT3B - set up for dual ESC's,.. I've been using it for a while with these settings and hadn't had any issues until now.

Dual Tekin FXR ESC's - the ESC's are smashed, and both are running the same firmware and settings.
I have one red wire de-pined, and the other red wire is powering the RX.
I did recently have one of these ESC's replaced recently.
I've had the problem ever since then.
I checked the firmware and settings are the same but maybe I'm using the wrong settings?.

Castle BEC - set to 7.0 volts powering only the 7955tg servo.
