i don't even own a 2.2 rig at the moment, but after trying and reading all the great reviews about the rock claws, i wanted a set for my scale rig. i haven't put foams in them yet, because i'm not sure how much foam i want to run in them. i'm sure with foam they will be even taller, and get back that rounded profile. the sectioned rock claw is next to a unaltered rock claw, and a sectioned/narrow masher for comparison. i think i have a real winner for 1.9!

it's super easy. just 2 straight cuts and that's it.

it was weird for me not being at the season opener. i have so much stuff happening right now. i'll make any comps my schedule allows.

Very, very cool. I have been eyeballing my extra set to do this with but I don't want to cut anything up in case I need them for Nationals.

They look great and super beefy by not being narrowed. "thumbsup"

thanks! i was thinking about narrowing them, but the more i look at them, the more i like them un-narrowed. besides, you would have to cut into that killer tread pattern.

Exactly!

Have you looked at the wider HPI stock car wheels? I have a set and I think they would work better for the unnarrowed tire. They are 31mm wide with a 6mm offset, compared to the stock car wheel most people use which is 26mm wide with a 0 offset.

part number 3858

They are also slightly smaller diameter for an even more scale look. I think they will look sweet on my Blazer with the Losi tires.

i haven't seen those wheels yet. i'll have to stop by my LHS to see if they have them. that would help with not narrowing the tire as well.

They would be hard to narrow and still look good. Probably have to rotate them so the treads alter. Heres a photoshop, I tried a few different lines but this is the only one that looked decent. I think they look better as they are now "thumbsup" Good work greg

:shock:I was wondering who would do this first. Nice job. I would like to see a Mini LST tire next to it now. Looks the same to me?

Those wheels are mmade to work with HPI's "Vintage" tires. They have a normal bead but part of the sidewall covers a portion of the wheel to give the appearance of a smaller wheel diameter.
