Should I not run rock sliders on my truck? I think it does better with them on. You guys run rock sliders on your trucks?

ok cool. Yeah it seemed to work better with those on them. so i will keep mine on it. I took off the big front brush gaurd though.

i also disconnected the lights to save battery power and took off the rear spare tire so it will be easy to put on and take off the body pins in the rear.

that brush gaurd/ skid plates take up to much room in the front of the truck. Should clear stuff way easier without it on.

i'm just using the factory silver body on it. I did buy a different body but i don't like it on it.

the factory 27 turn motor pigs up to much battery power to fast. I might run a 85 turn one in it. Nice a slow with gobs of torque and mega long battery life. I used to have one in a 2.2 crawler i had years ago.

i expertmented with a 35 turn, a 55 turn and a 85 turn motor in that 2.2 crawler i used to own. 85 worked the best in it.

My scx was definitely more capable without sliders. The sliders catch on rocks and stop progress where without sliders the body would just bend out of the way, which doesnt bother me at all. I only added the sliders for more of a scale look. I think on the next truck im going to do boatsides as it offers more clearance then both other options

it would be like pealing a potato without them on i bet. lol . i can picture that happening with lexan.

Anyways, I run sliders on my truck. It gives me a pivot point and protects the bottom of the body.

I have the RC4WD Sliders. The quality is incredible. However they do like to act like a pole vault. They will stick into a rock and just not budge. Dropping off a ledge is the biggest issue. Despite that drawback, I haven't seen too many rigs on the rocks (1:1) without sliders or some type of panel protection. I know I would NEVER wheel my 1:1 with no sliders, that said, if you are going full scale, leave the sliders on. If you don't care and just want to tear up stuff and have fun...take em off and listen to that lexan vs rock battle! I'm not a fan of the SCX-10 with no sliders, looks like something is missing.

Ya, have some kind of panels on the bottom of the sliders.
1: that would protect ur body
2: it keeps some water and dust out
The panels don't even have to be metal, it could be lexan even!
