My wife liked to drive my 2.2 alot so she needed somthing to drive of her own.The Losi has made her very happy, cause it's cute, and wheels great.

She like's the drag brake:lol:

Did some very worth while free mods to it.The front to rear weight bias seems perfect.

After some driving with things moved around for lower CG , this thing is amazing with just FREE mods. Only non stock parts used are ,four 3mm nuts ,ten zip-tys,and some scraps of stuff to make trays on the front and rear links. I would like to know how low others are running their ride height,Rufus is right at 2 inches, and it seems to be a great balance of clearence and CG.

Some pics of Rufus playing before EWRCRC's Oct. 5 comp.

It needs some sticky tires and a little more suspension tunning, but still works great !

It would almost pull itself up this last climb,I think with the blue compound Claws he would have got it.

8) Pics!

I am really wanting to see what these things will do with the Blue Compound Tires!

I know people have made cut and shuts but I ain't got those kind of scissors skillz!

Does the chassis plates flex at all because you removed the whole battery tray?
It flexes a little wich seems to be a good thing.I made braces for it like everyone else did and then decided not to run them. The small amount of flex this chassis has,has not allowed screws and nuts to come loose .I was wondering when someone would notice I didn't brace it and ask how it worked. If you have braced yours ,try taking them out and running the truck, you might like it.

Had some time at the work shop today so I started on a four link proto type for Rufus.8)
DSCN1825.jpg

First I built some new plates for the top of the axles out of .125 white Delrin.
DSCN1827.jpg

Then I bolted it all together using some links from my old four link setup for my stock AX-10 chassis.

They needed .250 trimmed off so into the Monarch lathe they went.

I need to put it all together and try it now. More pics to come later,as well as more D.A.M. cool parts.8)

Looks nice Dave, cant wait to get togther again and put these little guys to the test. Keep up the good work and Mad skills with the lathe. I posted mine up as well on here.......

I got Rufus put back together with the shorter top links.I think I'm going to drill holes farther forward on the chassis and try new mounting points there as well.I built the rear link mounts with 2 different height holes to try different squat settings.

ah....WOW nice HOME workshop ;-) I noticed that you have the shocks on the outside of the frame and did not add a brace front and rear like most of the others seem to have done.

have you noticed any issues {like too much twisting in the frame, shocks binding? anything?}

Dan

Rufus had his first comp...with the stock tires still:-( It was great to get out and drive with other Losi crawlers and get an idea of it's abilities.

It was a blast ! There were 4 Losi"s at EWRCRC's first mini comp.8)

Updates on the rear 4-link.I haven't had time to make a whole new skid so I cut up the stocker to trianglate the rear lower links.I then moved the shocks so I could run the uppers parallel.

Articulation is about one tire height and very smooth. Our club has it's 2nd 1.9 comp next weekend so it will get the real test then. The next piece I'll build will be a rear shock mount that is mounted to the solid axle lockout screw. This will let me mount the shocks even wider on the axle.

After pricing some aftermarket wheels:shock: I decided to just add more weight to the stockers and run them. Local sporting good store sells lead rope for $4.79 for a 1 pound spool. "Slightly" more afordable then new wheels!
DSCN2413.jpg

I put 2 coils on the fronts and 1 on the backs to start with.

I don't have anything to weigh them with at home so I'll post up weights on friday when I go back to work.

Decided to paint the stock wheels while I had them apart.I was going to copy Jeeper05's black paint job ,but decided to try the orange that I used for the stripes on the body.
