So I got a RS10 XT back in December. This is my first crawler, and RC I've had since way younger, I really love this thing. I know it got bashed for awhile but there are some really good review and vids on it so I went with the RS10 and plans to upgrade it.

Upgrades:
HB Rovers White dot
Wheel Weights 1.75oz in Fronts and 1oz in Backs
Aluminum Knuckles
HR Internal Spring Shocks
Shock Axle Mount
Upper Link Mount
CSRC 645MG Front Servo
Hitec HS 5485HB Back Servo
High Clearance Tie Rods
Bent Lower Links
Steel Gears
Harden Steel Drive Pin
Aluminum Skid Plate
3800Mh Battery w/ Quick Charger

This is just after Wheel Weights and HB Rovers

And took it crawling at the lake, to much fun

Now time to do major upgrades. So stressful and relaxing at the same time trying to take the axles apart.

flip your lower links so the bend is toward the back you'll have better clearance. when i had mine i tested it both ways and found it worked better reversed

the single rod end mount works, but allows for too much unloading. I had my dads RS10 tuber setup that way and finally took it out, slop reduction out weighed the articulation benfits too much.

Ill try the links out in a few runs, wana see how it works out.

I had thought about DIY metal L brackets screwed into the axles, But it feels like i wont have any room for the shocks without major rubbing

any thoughts on other connections,i really like the shocks being on the axle

put a another rod end towards the gear box and run a bolt through them both. use spacers to hold the shock to teh out side. this could also be used as a weight bar. the servo side might be an issue though. i do this, but i ran my bolt front to back, but my shocks will sit more upright.

ok, ya i like the idea of the front to back bar, im gonna re do my shock body post to 2 long pieces on the chassis and also try out the shock mounts front to back. do i need anymore weight? i got 5.5oz total in the wheels and both steel geared axles, it feels heavy.

Changed the chassis mod to 2 post, like the f-150 scale build on here.
Like it so much better now, got the flex to right at a coke can.

And was able to get the shocks on axle thru the lower link mount.
Had to remove eyes to get the bigger screw in, but im gonna get some traxxas rod ends tomorrow with the bigger eye hole, and had to cut a bit off the servo plat but its all good

will flip the lower links when i get the new rod ends and see how the clearance is

The setup works out really well thing feels like its stuck to the ground.
I do need to adjust the ride height a bit it feels a little to low to me

To each their own i guess... im not digging the new mod to the chassis. Looks like you are trying to turn your RS10 into a scale with that chassis. Hope it all comes together for you though.

slowly working towards scale, will be getting a truck body in the near future. I dont care for the limited tuning options on the chassis so had to do something bout it

you could buy a used scx10 chassis and mount the redcat axles to that if scale is what you are looking for. A buddy of mine built a scale chassis for me from an aluminum block and i use that for a spare set of rs10 axles i have. So i have one stock rs10 (big overhaul coming soon) and a kinda scale rs10. Its just an idea. I actually bought a set of stock clodbuster axles recently and i plan on mounting them to an scx10 chassis to see how that works out.

Wow the clodbusters look beasty! ya the scx10 chassis might be a idea in the future. Now that i got the rs10 upgraded the gf wanted to drive it now shes wanting a crawler thinking about going real small with a trail trekker
