Ok well I guess its a change of plans my buddy gave me my early xmas gift a new set of tsl tires so I'm gonna be building my new toyota with full interior and gonna go with the long bed on this one ! Ill be talking tp martin to see how I can post pics if my pos computer will let me ! Lol on the build. So I guess the d90 will wait again ! Lol

Hey, over the sierra fellow scalers, an early heads up for the next Nevada G6.
R.E.C.O.N. Crawlers is proud to host another Nevada G6 Challenge, "ERZBERG".
Location: Cottonwood Park West, Sparks, NV
Date: Jan. 15, 2011
Time: Tech start at 0800hrs / rig is impounded after tech.
Drivers Meeting: 0900hrs.
Stage Start: right after drivers meeting.
Fee: Individual-$10.00; Teams-$10.00 for Captain and $5.00 per team member.

This G6 Challenge will feature 3 stages of r/c scale rally fun and as always, the time bonuses and special skills sections will test drivers fortitude or winch, which ever comes first.
Stage 1 will be a healthy dose of 100 gates.
Stage 2 will feature 50 gates.
Stage 3 will feature 50 gates.
Gate numbers will be highly visible, but navigational skills will be needed. The Stage Buddy will not assist the driver on locating the next gates, but will tell the driver the next gate he/she is looking for.
Drivers will start in 2 minute intervals and may be alternating Stages.
Once paired with a stage buddy, both competitors must finish the Stage. There will be a 5 to 10 minute break in between those drivers running of the Stage.
Driving Teams will be scored and encouraged at this G6. A team may consist of two or three drivers and one G-ride; scaler. The team drivers will run each stage and be scored individually and as a team. The team with the lowest combined score will win. No team members will Stage Buddy for each other. Bring out the family or some buddies and have some fun.
This G6, battery changes MUST BE DONE IN THE PIT AREA and ON THE CLOCK. A driver will be able to turn off/on or plug/unplug their rig in the impound area only.
Please see the G6 format for updates on the G6 Guidelines. There have been some changes and updates.

Damm Chris, I wish I would have seen this earlier. Iam thinking about a little GTG/ comp. maybe this Saturday?? Hey Martin will SAt. work for you? Maybe a little something like we did the day after Thanksgiving Day.
This Saturday works for me, weather permitting. Today was pretty short notice, I just had to get out of the house. Glad I did, found some mud and a ton of fresh lines to the left of the point!
At least I got to test out the new Swampers..

The swampers did good today,but they do need a little cutting up. they tend to load up in the mud. but no biggie, they seemed to grip better as they break in.
I'm definitely down for the next g6, I just hope weather's good that weekend.

Hey guys, as those I've wheeled with know, I need more wheel speed. I have the trans (R2) out to grease it and see that I have an 8 tooth pinion. I have the 55 turn crawler motor in it and I'm not trying to be too fast (that should be obvious), what pinion would you suggest? I have the spare 45 turn motor but not sure how good it is or if it would make much difference. A little help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike.
p.s. If you wheel this Sat I might make it. Gotta put the crawler back together, but Sunday is out. I'll keep checking the site to see what you decide.

Put a larger pinion on it and try that. should give you some more wheel speed.

i got a 45t motor and im runin 18t pinion. i had a 55t motor with 14t pinion made a big difference. i can actually walk with it now

Sidehilling wasn't too bad, although with a taller tire, your center of gravity's a little taller also. It's a bit of a trade off, but my approach angle front and rear improved also. The sidwalls held up great, no real foldover. the foams that came with them are pretty good, IMO, so the sidewalls stayed in good shape while still maintaining a good contact patch. So far so good.
