Yes..

The new crawler in my stables has been named, Tater-Tot. I still need a few more parts and few more hours on the work bench and it'll be finished. I hope to have it ready to roll for the ORCRC crawling comp in June....It'll be tough only due to recently breaking my left wrist, at least 4-6 weeks in a cast :x

The Factor chassis is soon to go bye-bye as I plan to get a chassis from rockraider to toss under it....it has a ways to go but at least it's started!

Things it needs:
New chassis
Links
Servo(s)
ESC
Tranny....maybe, few options to decide on
Need to groove the hell out of the Kongs
...and some more money! :flipoff:

NOTE:
(big thanks goes out to Roktoy, Jay K. for a good deal on parts)

Diglers truck looks good and seems to work good, so why not copy it some what? hehe... Although I plan to use this chassis, at least I'm leaning towards it:

Brett I hope you decide to give this chassis a shot. I got it put together just before these pics were taken. It has an unbelievably low cog I can actually get three wheels onto a 90 degree wall with the fourth on the ground and It is stable. Hope you can make it out on sunday the course is looking awesome.

Yep! I'll be there.

Depending on how much time I can get into Tater-Tot tomorrow I might have it up and running... see how well an electric Factor running Kongs can do. :) The Juggy will be ready to rock, even with broken knuckles... Hua says that my knuckles are/have been in the mail, maybe they'll show up tomorrow.

I'm starting to lean towards the Maxx tranny. I plan to gear this thing as low or even lower than my Juggy(478:1) and being able to pick between 2 speeds on the fly will be a treat when needed.

Man... I'm up to 3 servos and one ESC now... I need a new radio to go with this project! :)

:flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: You copier!!! Just kidding. 8) Looks good man. I am looking fo r aJuggy roller so I can run my Jugg-Factor as well as a Juggy with stock axles and Giant tracs. That looks good man. The only thing about those axles is that I find it is hard to keep driveshfts on it with the Kongs and a reduction unit. I keep getting this grinding noise in mine when I try to go up something... I think it my be my tranny as I have checked both axles and there seems to be nothing worng. Anyway have fun!!!

very awsome looking truck. very very nice. what collor is that on the boby i like it. by the way i have an emax tranny for sale. brand new never used. it is JB welded in to first but thats a $5 fix. has both pinnion gears, all the linkage and 2 spurs, motor mount, dust cover the whole bit. $55 shipped any where in the US. just PM me if your interested. thanx

Nomercy, I'll keep it in mind... I'm keeping tabs on a couple E-Maxx trannys that are on eBay currently and depending on what happens there I might give you a buzz.

I have to post up some pictures I took recently that shows the size difference between Da-Juggy and Tater-Tot.....

In house pics only due to rain, rain and more rain outside

This project is going to be fun.... probably more fun than building up the Juggy! Probably due to this project really needing a wide variety of parts and trying to get them all together as one.

Thats big!!!!! Are you compensating for something? :flipoff:

Whats the overall width, wheelbase and weight? crawl ratio and motors? Think you'll have trouble with gates?

Looks awesome Toyo!!

Any plans to narrow those kongs?

Yes... that's down the road once it's rolling under it's own power.

I don't think so :flipoff:

Currently it's about 19.25" wide and 22" long, with a wheelbase of approx 13.75"..... For weight I'd guess about 7-8lbs. Full 3" of under diff clearance.

I plan to stretch the wheelbase to 16.75-17". Still have to narrow 3 more wheels too.

No motor(s) or tranny yet so unable to figure a final crawl ratio. I'm leaning towards a Maxx tranny but we'll see how much influence I get at the ORCRC comp tomorrow... many 'Pede tranny crawlers there. It'll be running a reduction unit reguardless. A 2-speed tranny sounds good especially if I gear it super low, then I can pick between low-low or just low.

I have mounted a 32 pitch spur to the stock X-Factor tranny, so I am going to rig a reduction unit and motor into the stock chassis for for fun...see when the tranny decides to shift between 1st & 2nd(basicly an auto clutch setup for shifting). I could even get away with running a non-reversing ESC in this as the stock tranny just has a servo operated lever that shifts the tranny between forward or reverse... a forward only ESC could work, just need a extra servo to do the forward/reverse shifting.

Gates? Who needs stinkin' gates :flipoff: We, the ORCRC group, don't tend to have true measurements for gate widths.... at least not yet. Many Wide Maxx hybrids and X-Factored axled rigs in the group so our gates have been just wide enough to squeez through with those.

I don't think there is a better combo than the X axles and Kongs! It's lookin real cool!
17 inches of wheel base should be about right. Also....I bet you end up narrowing the overall track width to about 16. It just sits too wide with the Imex wheels and super wide Kongs. Keep it up! and keep posting pics!

Most recent updates as this, as of today(5/27):

Recieved one of my 1/4 scale servos.... Hitec HS-5735MG. I know some of you prefer another brand of servos but I've had good luck with my Hitec servos and plan to keep using them, plus this one has a heatsink to keep it cooler when telling the Kongs where to go.
The wife doesn't know how much it cost just yet

Made a temporary transplant of the Juggy's trany into the stock X-Factor chassis setup.

Have my old Hitec HS-5645MG in the rear.

I should have the little 'Tot finished enough to be rolling on it's own by Sunday. Just need to make a quick stop by the LHS's in search of BFT pinions to make the conversion.
