So with the popularity of these trucks growing everyday, there is also a huge demand for scale accessories to deck them out with....jacks, gas cans, coolers, picks, axes, shovels, tow straps, ect ect.
All of these things lend to the scale realism of these rigs....but come on...Proline wants $16-$20 for a jack, or a cooler and shovel? WTF!

I want those things but am not willing to spend that kind of coin for a couple of little pieces........so out to the Monster Garage we go.
I have some foam, very fine celled and used by modelers to carve parts for molds....the stuff sands very smooth and unlike some other foams takes paint very well. I also have a small stock of styrene plastic rod, sheet, and square stock.....time to see what I can come up with.

Several free hours and a little effort and I came up with these....the ONLY parts NOT hand-made are the chainsaw (an old refrigerator magnet I have had for years....just turned out to be the right scale) and the coil of rope, everything else is hand carved from foam and/or styrene. Even the custom Oregon plate on the back.

Contents of my trail kit:
Fire extinguisher, jerry can, cooler, shovel, pick, axe, hi-lift jack.

These are not quite as detailed as the Proline stuff, but looks good enough when the truck is moving....and the total cost to me? $0

good job, looks nice!!!....check out the doll house section at your local hobby lobby, some good scale stuff there also for pretty cheap. i found a
6 pack of coke there for $1.99

the nice thing is that the two biggest pieces...the jerry can and the cooler are completely caved from foam and weigh NOTHING!
