scale rc pre-runners

It was made for an Associated rc10, not sure of the wheelbase. I've ordered one from Tower so I'll post when it comes in.

well, that project didn't take nearly as long as i thought:

XC with longer shocks on the rear and a leftover E-Maxx body. now all it needs is a nice fast motor.

Does anyone know who owned the tlt based prerunner that Hulk built before 1badjeepbruiser. I'm wanting some body off pics.

I've got a couple of chassies here that might be cool for something like this...

Here's an Associated tuber built by Roktoy.

Here's my ThunderTech Stampede.

I think the Stampede would be cool, it's already running a Novak 5800 brushless.

Your already ahead of the game. Post some more pictures of the associated truck when you get a chance.

Would tlt axles hold up for brushless? Also in a speed rig would it be wise to lock front and rear diffs or only rear. A narrowed up 1/8 scale would be bad. I wish I had a junk buggy to play with.

All baja vehicles are open/open. My Wild Willy is Locked and it is fast and just does a wheelie and then a one legged wheelie and then flops.

I picked up a couple of the race line baja 1:18 scale dicast. These are pretty detailed. I'll post some pix later. These would be great to go by.

I think i know what you are going for. Take Twin axles and narrow them. Have RC4WD make the new dogbones for the narrowed sides. run 2.2's on it, and you could mate a small can brushless (such as the novak) to the axles no prob. the center tranny could even be a pede tranny. I have ran my pede lots with a lehner 4200 and 12 cells. A metal idler is a must, but oherwise they work well on high rpm motors.

TLT axles dont work well with brushless. mine broke a lot when I tried to make the TLT fast. The shafts are turned down where the output rides around (for steering I assume) and they continually break there. Plus the axles cases are an oh so rigid plastic that doesnt get along with crashes well.

I was at Wal-mart this weekend and picked up a DVD "Dust to Glory" It is a documentry on the Baja 1000. Cool video. It made me want to build a rc pre-runner then I saw this thread today. Now what to build????
