Hey guys, been awhile since I've logged in. Thought I would take a moment to explain why. I have been extremely busy with work lately, and haven't had hardley any time to spend with my family, let alone hop on here for even a few minutes.
Two weeks ago I thought what the hell and decided to take the day off. So I left the office around 10am and headed home. Around 230pm I was relaxing in bed when I heard screaming and beating on my door. My wife got up to see what was going on, and then I heard her scream for me.
I jumped out of bed and darted for the back door, but nobody was there. I heard more screaming, and a sound no father ever wants to hear. My youngest daughter screaming and crying in pain. I darted around to the front of the house to see the school bus parked, my daughter lying on the ground in my driveway screaming and I panicked.
I ran over as quickly as I could, asked what happened and she told me "the bus ran over me"
Turns out the idiot bus driver caught her arm in the door while she was getting off the bus, and drug her down the road 35 feet. Then her arm came loose from the door, she fell and he ran over her hand and wrist. 911 was called, half of the states emergency responders showed up and rushed her to vanderbuilt childrens hospital. A few hours later they were going to send her home, and pointed out that her hand was still swelling and getting worse. They called in a specialist and they ended up keeping her for 3 /more days. Luckily there weren't any broken bones. But she has some severe damge to her right hand, torn ligaments/tendons and some nerve damage. The worst part of all of it. She crawled up in my lap the other night and told me she was having nightmares that the bus driver was trying to kill her.

I spoke with the director of schools, benny bills and he told me very directly that I needed to keep my mouth shut about it and let it go.

Needless to say the local news has been all over it, and we already have an attorney.
I would like to send a special thanks to all of the sumner county emergency responders, the local sherrifs department and the state troopers. You guys have all done an outstanding job and you should be proud.

Darryl

Theres no way I would shut my mouth about that! I would think the bus driver would see her? Im glad shes alright!

Dude, I jusrt read this to my wife and she kept waiting for the punch line and all we can say is B.S. I would put this all over the local TV and get that super fired. then go over to his house and drag him down the road from the back of your truck!

Our best go to you and the fam. Please let her know she has our prayers.

i really hope everything will be ok for your daughter and family.

on the bright side... maybe her first car and furthering her education will be put on the school district"thumbsup"

There is no way in hell I would shut up about it. I would tell it to everyone I possibly could. I would maybe call a state agency of some sort and maybe a national news channel. If the guy had been civilized about it then I would say well he's doing what he can. But if he told you to shut up about it and let it go. I would get some ASS!

Are you shittin' me? Any proof of this?

Hang him by the fawkin' balls and see to it that he loses his job for trying to sweep this under the rug.

The bus driver should have already been let go.

Glad your daughter is OK and not more seriously injured.

In a case like this I'm sure you've got lawyers lined up to represent your family.

Good luck and keep us updated on your daughter.

I'd get my girl some counseling if that happened. I'd also call the school superintendant and demand that he FIRE the principle.
definantly seek an attourneys help on this.

First of all I hope your daughter makes a full recovery, and secondly, I hope you do whatever it takes to let others know about this, so no other kids have to go through this, even if it means a huge lawsuit and a letter to the major network news.

Sorry to hear this happened. Hope your daughter has a full recovery. I could not imagine the pain I would feel if something like that happened.

No way in hell would I keep quite after that. I drag him and the rest of those involved through hell.

I feel for you. I had a small altercation with my sons bus driver and called in to her supervisor, but it fell on deaf ears. They all acted like it was such a inconvienance that I was even calling in. Good thing you have a lawer. Is the driver still on the job? He's gotta feel terrible for hurting a kid.

Having 4 kids of my own wit the newest bing 3 months old, this story scares the hell out of me. I remember back when I was in grade school. A Young boy slipped on the ice and went under a parked bus. The bus moved forward and drove over the young boys chest. He was the younger brother of one of my classmates. Even though it is bad enough that it was her hand, count your blessings because it could have been much worse.

I wish your daughter a speedy and full recovery.

As far as the "keep your mouth shut" Well, I don't don't know what to say other they Fawk them but, in all actuallity it might be a good idea until the courts are fully involved. Even though I hate injury lawyers, this is a time were it is actually needed.

That driver is not supposed to move that vehical until the child is safely away from the bus and in veiw. Seems the driver of the bus was not paying any attention at all. Was probly more worried about getting the kids off the bus, parked and on the way to the local pub.

Good luck with everything.

If I had been in your shoes I prolly wouldnt be typing right now because Id be in jail. That bus driver would be dead or on the brink.

Zero excuse for dragging a child 35ft while her arm is stuck in the door...
