Screw kits?

I used to have a guy that I got nice assorted screw kits from. I no longer have contact with him and am looking to fill my bin again. Anyone have a good source for hex heads in a large variety?

Just go to mcmaster.com and order a few different boxes of a 100. Then grab one of those little boxes to organize them in. It gets you the sizes you use the most without the middle man organizer guy to inflate the price.

my suggestion... go on eBay and look up SS hardware for the various kits used for crawling (TLT; TXT; CLOD; MAXX) and buy them... you will be looking around 60.00 but you should have a good selection of useable pieces. Also RC4WD has a nice SS bolt/nut/screw set; look them up."thumbsup"

You are such a MORON. Ya know many small towns dont have any kind of hardware store that carries bolts under 4 or 5 mm. I have an ACE, Home depot, and others and I have to buy al my hardware off line because they only carry the larger stuff in metric, and very little 4-40 even

Home Depot and Lowes have driven all other hardware stores out of business around these parts. And it's amazing to me how a place as huge and vast as either can always consistantly NOT have what you need. Hardware smaller than 6-32? Forget it, pal. Ain't happenin'.
My closest LHS is not much help, either. It's staffed by a bunch of Dungeons and Dragons geeks who don't know anything about RC.
I know there has to be a fastener specialty store around here somewhere, but I have'nt found it yet. I'm gonna surf some of these on-line sites.

my closest LHS is about 140 miles LOL

I do have a fasterner specialty store canyon state nut and bolt....but still nothing under 6-32 or 4mm. those places are designed for contractors

That must be nice - where do you live, dude?
The "bolt aisle" around here is useless - unless you are building a frickin' fence or somethin'.
RTL Fasteners looks like the shizzie. That's what I've been searching for...
140 miles!!! Damn, I feel for you dude. The one I mentioned is only like 10 minutes from my house. There is another one about 25 miles away that is way better in both stock on hand and staff, that's where I head to when I really need something. Does'nt seem so bad now...

Anyone been in a Radio Shack for anything lately?
I wonder if they have any small hardware layin' around?

no they dont or at least my 2 are totally worthless

Wow, who would have thought nuts and bolts to be such a hot topic! :)

I am kinda anal when it comes to using the right bolt at the right length so I've always kept lots of variety on hand. The guy I got mine from was a distributor and used to give me great deals on a huge assortment.

Thanks for all the suggestions... well, cept the hardware store one although some of the responses to that were hysterical. :)

I am off to do some nut and bolt shopping. "thumbsup"
