Scx24 ultra4 chassis wip

I can play with that too and see how it looks I just felt like this was the look I was going for

Stronger rear and might be about to eliminate some other braces to reduce weight. 0.030” maximum thickness of panels, they add weight and so do the screws holding them to the chassis. Colored opaque or translucent plastic from school or art supplies will reduce need for paint this refining weight, every gram counts and add up to total weight. Can’t wait to see this running! :)

More parts came in the mail which means one step closer! Still waiting on the v2 chassis. Made quite a few changes that will make it work better and assemble easier but so far everything is great! This thing is a monster. About a half inch wider than stock and 25 or 30mm longer than a stock car. This thing should dominate the races we have :flipoff:

Unfortunately it won’t be finished for tomorrow nights race so I’ll be racing ol red tomorrow night. But it will definitely be done for our next race! Pretty stoked to be back racing, should have 17 cars showing up for tomorrow nights race I’ll post pictures and video from the race here so you guys can get a slight glimpse of the action.

Those Methods look good. If you want a tire with a tougher carcass look at some of the tires for the WPL on fleaBay. They're about the same size height/width but use a bigger wheel. Inside bead is like a 1.1-1.2" so you'd have to scale your 3d wheels to fit. 66x25mm tire size.

Just an update for everyone! I should have the newest version of chassis in my hands in a week or two for final assembly and she’ll be ready for a test drive! I’ve decided to also upload the chassis in it’s current state to thingiverse.com for others to try to print themselves if they want. I’ll post more pictures of the beast when the chassis comes in and I can final assemble it.

Check it out! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4531644

Nice. I can't wait to see a working model of it.

I'M BACK! so little update for everyone, my local guy can't quite seem to figure out how to print the chassis in one piece so I resorted to getting it printed through a website that prints things for people.... which if you've ever ordered through them, its great print quality but takes forever.

Fast forward a few weeks, i'm pretty sure UPS has lost my chassis:cry:

On a positive note I've gotten great feedback from those that printed it on their own through thingiverse.

I've gotten the U4 chassis all updated and dialed as well as the new Trail Ripper chassis. Put quite a bit more detail and options for parts into both chassis depending on the look you're going for. The hoods and roofs are exactly the same which is convenient.

Here's some of the latest renderings for both chassis with all of the options, 3 different hoods and 2 roofs (with and without light bar) available for these little guys.

Well guys the day has come! After I thought UPS lost my chassis it finally showed up today and it is beautiful. I was so excited I knew I had to build the whole car out tonight and I did just that. I even took it up a notch since this will be my main unlimited class racer for our @littleguyracingseries (look it up on Instagram) I knew I had to go over the top of what all of us thought was possible. Aside from the motor I assembled it with mostly stock suspension to show everyone it’s possible. 6 of the 8 links are factory axial as you can see. Drive shafts are just as the come out of the package I had to trim 1/4” off the rear female and they bolted right in. But of course being my main race rig for unlimited class I had to push the limits and opted for the brushless system. Granted. It does not crawl like stock. The closest thing I can compare it to real life is crawling a Jeep with a stock inline 6 and driving the same jeep with a built LS. It’s a little more touchy with throttle and reverse so im still getting use to that but it really does crawl incredible and it’s going to tear up the open sections of the race courses :flipoff:

Overall the rig came out amazing. Looks beautiful and performs like nothing I’ve ever driven before. You can just feel how low the center of gravity is while driving it it’s incredibly stable and I don’t have any extra weights other than the brass front cover and the 5g at each wheel with hot racing +4 axles.

Here’s all the photos anyone have any tips for posting videos on here?

Nice. Is that heat sink on the motor a slip on or is it part of the motor housing?

Easiest way to post videos for me is YouTube. Open a different account if you don’t want your other hobbies pilfered through. LOL.

It’s a slip on heat sink

Thanks yeah I’ll probably just end up making another YouTube to keep it all separate :lmao:

Printing one now, thanks for sharing.
