Sept 9th - Beavertail Lighthouse - 3rd NETC

Cool. Sunday it is. I have a pop-up I'll toss in the back of my truck in case we need it.

Really sad! Not gonna be able to make this one. It's my step sons first football game that day. If it was the second I might miss it but not his first. Have a great day and good luck!

Looks like i'm gonna be out for yet another! Ends up when you are going away for over a week you need to pack....so stupid. Good luck everyone and have fun! Hope to get to a scaler comp or 2.2 before the snow comes.

Sounds like it's gonna be a small crew for this one. Maybe we'll get done pretty early. If anyone wants to check out Fort Wetherill afterwards, it's really close and awesome crawling there. I'll go if anyone's interested.

any idea how far the courses will be from parking? just wondering because if it is pretty close i'll bring my sporty and pro.

Doubt it'll be far, if you look at a map of the place you'll see what I mean. It all depends on where we setup, lot 2 on the west side would be a great spot because there won't be many people over there and there is some good terrain to choose from. Also just in front of and to the east of the lighthouse has some great stuff, but there isn't a lot of parking right there. Regardless, we will never be too far away from the cars that you couldn't walk there in a minute or two."thumbsup"

Looks like I am able to go, so I will see you all there tomorrow. Looks like a great place.

Packed and ready.

Got a few test things in the rig but confident with two comps left before my 2013 changes.

See ya all in the am, nice ride so its bed time for me.

Sorry guys - Curt had a flair up yesterday. I helped him pack with hopes that rest would help but I had to help him out of bed this morning so he won't be able to play today. It's mostly in his feet right now - hopefully the meds kick in before it spreads like last time. Have fun for him - Emily

Can't wait to see everybody on the 23rd

That sucks but understandable. Hope he's better quick.

See ya in a couple weeks.

I opened my gear casing once i got home and found the culprit.

Broken 3rd gear.

Ordering 2 tonight, hopefully they come in early enough for me to join you guys next weekend at the next comp.

Yeah, I am going to clean out the whole casing and re-grease the gears to make sure everything is out. Unfortunately the SDS 3rd gear is back-ordered on tcscrawlers's website, so I am not sure when I will be back up and running.

Damn thats some carnage for just turning and burning.

Got to say though we got lucky with the weather, thank you to all that believed in my gut and Bob F's optimism. That was a great spot and some easy looking but ball snappiing courses. Anything on the water, expecially salt water, makes for interesting times and driver nerves.

I set course 1 with Bob F leading off setting the pace early. I ran next to last for scoring reasons. Leading after my run we had Brian snapping in just in time and took the course win from myself and Bob F.

Putting himself at first run for course 2 he showed an alarm clock failure wasnt gonna hold him back. Deciding to skip one of the bonus gates but still turn a healthy negative score put it all down to making us go for the 'crazy' bonus.

Your on an edge off camber at about 45 degrees, below you is a 4 foot drop on to another shelf area with a couple guys ready to catch. A miss there though put you on another 5 or so foot drop into high tide.

Some of us went for it and others played it safe. I had to be the first to try it, 4lb truck and some soft foams it looked easy but still scary. Once I did it though even the heavy guys saw how and made it. Bringing himself to the top spot for course 2 was Jay nailing a perfect course (and using a judges body) and running first for the 3rd course.

Brian set up course 3 while we finished up course 2 and wow not for the weak. With some tactical drop offs and a few climbs he kept us working. Gate 3 was the burner. Being in an area the sun didnt hit much it looked to be slick. We felt it, touched it, rubbed it and even stepped on it. After a bit of tweaking we opened it up a bit hoping to help it. Nope, it bit us all. :ror:

Hats off though because Jay showed us all how slick it actually was before trying alternative routes and everyone still atleast tried it. One truck did make it but I can tell ya it wasnt easy. From there we all went for some bounces, launches and topples to finish up the course. For sure hardest course of the day but the level we have all brought ourselves to compete at. "thumbsup"

Great driving to everyone though. Finishing spots are just numbers that get better. "thumbsup"

Thanks again to all. Ill have full scores updated and posted later tonight as well as some pictures.

Hope to see as many of you guys back on the 23rd for our finale at Rock Island. Bring the gatorade and pb&j's ......... its gonna be a great day!

Got some pics up of the comp and location. Great spot with so much more to be used.

Great job to everyone again for coming out and driving.

Scores are posted on the google documents and series scores updated. Let me know if you cant see them. I know mobile phones cant unless you use an App called 'Drive' but it might just be a Google Android thing. :flipoff:
