cape crud... will you be my friend
is there a way to add an on/off switch in line on a servo ?

can i just tap into the power and switch it open/closed ?

i just finished hooking up my winch and set up my 3pm, but i want a safety switch that can kill the servo and protect my bumper against the servo being run in accidently.
thanks for looking.

I just use a switch from the radio battery 4 cell holders. If you open the switch up you will see where the red wires are soldered and that the black wire just runs thru the switch housing. Take and solder the switch in-line on the power wire of your servo.............

Sure you can, cut any of the 3 wires and add a simple on-off switch.
Black = negative
Red = positive
White = signal
It doesnt really matter what wire you choose to switch, as the servo wont work with any of them open.

can anyone explain? or if someone could possibly draw up a picture in paint or something thatd be great "thumbsup"

That illustration is awesome! Made me chuckle. We need to get that sucker put in the tech section on the front page!

Just cut the red wire and solder in the switch. nothing to it. It might be easier to solder the switch into the black wire since it's on the outside edge of the wire. Either way, you just cut one. Red or black; your choice. "thumbsup"
