A 7950 has more than enough torque for a tf2. I just have a cheap solar servo that puts out just over 300oz of torque and have a very hard time stalling it out on my tf2 so the 7980 would be a waste of money and would require either a new servo mount or a decent amount of material removed from the stock one to fit.
I have run three different servos on my TF2 (due to building other rigs, etc). I started with the classic 645mg (about 130 oz torque). Slow and not enough torque. Went to a Hitec hs-7954sh (about 250 oz torque at 6 volts). And currently an old school Airtronics 94257 (rated about 110 oz torque but at 4.8volts, could not find a 6volt rating). The 94257 has incredible speed and stalls less then the 645mg did. It was a left over from my Touring car racing days. Bought mainly for its very fast speed. Costs more then the hitec 7954 when I got it about 15 years ago ($110). It was Aitronics top of the line offering for touring car racing at the time. Anyways, it is wierd how ratings go. The Airtronics is rated less power then the Hitec 645 but definitely out torques it. Even with smaller 1.55 tires, the TF2 needs more then a 645 imho. The 7954 was a bit overkill and has been moved to my Wraith axled Honcho (Wroncho). That is running 2.2 Boggers (5.75 inch tall) and needed the torque more then the Tf2 did with 4.1 Stompers 8) .
I think something in the 200 or so rating is a good way to go with the TF2 when running the common tires you will see on it. If you go up greatly to the 4.5 Irox or such, you may want a little more? Depends on how you run it. unning on the rocks is a lot more stressfull then trail running.
