Also a special thank you to Cory (Stang Killa SS) at The Scale Shop for designing a custom chassis just for this build, and getting it to me so dang quickly:thumbs_up:

Aluminum Scale Radriator V2 "Ultralite" - super easy to install, very light and looks fantastic!
*Warning* - once you go custom chassis, you can never go back:) It makes the entire build so much easier.

This is my class 2 entry to this years SW Scale Nationals.

Brief description, then pics...

Body is a New Bright 4dr JK with some modifications that include trimmed front fender flares (still need to be painted) and completely removed rear fender flares. Ive decided to run it with the entire roof intact, as I just love its profile. Also, I plan on running the color as is, no painting required..bonus!
Custom made sliders, made from very thin galvanized steel to save on weight. Decided here not to mount tube sliders to it in order to keep things extra clean. Ultimately, it might be nice to have them as those are a useful point to wrap winch line through in the event of a rollover, but hey, it'll never roll over:tongue:
I made the front bumper to be class legal, and as out of the way as possible. I managed to mount the winch line fairlead between the two tubes to keep it out of the way.
The body is held in place with super strong magnets up front, and for now at least, two body posts in the rear to help align the body, and gives me the option of using a body clip should I feel the need for more holding power. I do plan on using two super strong magnets to hold the rear down as well.

So far, during my initial living room testing, the suspension and steering geometry seem to be very good. There is zero bump steer, good but not ridicoulous articulation, and I was able to mount the steering link and drag link on top of the arms, thanks to the custom chassis.

Good choice keeping the original blue on the body. I regreted paint mine....
Your tire size looks about perfect btw.

"thumbsup" Simple and clean. Like others have already said. I like it.

Where'd you get the magnets?

What pinion did you end up running ? Did you pick up the spur and pinion from hobby town or order them ?

Steve, fantastic build brother"thumbsup". I love the clean look and totally agree with running the top. Can we get some suspension shots? I just ordered a version 2 smooth skid combo from Corey. I want to see the axle location under compression with the chassis.
