Sheldons Hobbies RC Crawling course

sheldons was a great hobby shop back before it was bought and moved from old oakland road, they had great customer service and always had replacement parts for what ever they stocked

I don't think aj bought it. It used to be his dads shop now his dad just owns Rc unlimited and one other shop in gilroy

AJ is the owner. He bought it from his dad who bought it from Sheldon

It would be the best for all of us south bay crawlers to have a space at the fairgrounds. Or if Bayside ever gets its new location secured maybe a setup there.

I really wish we had a "Mike Mann" in the South bay who could afford to open up a real place to crawl. Something like NorCal but completely indoors with comp, scale, drift, micro tracks & courses etc. There is a lot of open commercial space around right now, fairly cheap.

D & J is the best place for hobby stuff thats not R/C. They have a very old and tired assortment that is mainly Traxxas supported. Don't go to D&J for R/C. Go there for sewing, dollhouses, crafts, miniatures, models, paint, etc. They are great for that!

has anybody been to gilroy hobby, that place makes sheldons' customer service seem great. Talk about another hobby shop with potential, but owners holding it back . The hobby shop is in the old gilroy skating ring

probably the one thats owned by AJ's dad

andy owns rc unlimited of camden, he was trying to buy the one in gilroy one of the gilroy employees was talkin about it. Even if he buys it I dont think its really a big step in the right direction

thats true.. but still.. they have more crawler parts than sheldons, has more knowledge than sheldons about RC, and their service is very top notch compared to sheldons.

DJ does carry alot of traxxas some HPI. but now adays i see more and more losi. maybe like 3-6 axial parts.

never go to hobbytown USA in sunnyvale.. from my perspective.. Motors, batteries are out dated, maybe like a year or 2 old. then the guy who works there doesnt know chit, and he really gets on my nerves sometimes. sometimes hes alittle tooo pushy on making you get a part.

i was wanting to work there and take his job.. :lmao:

you should, hobby shops should have people working that know or at least have an idea of what the product does. Same goes for autoparts stores

agreed, but down side is that highschools really i kick in the face, and Hobbytown USA sunnyvale already has a pretty bad rep.. i drive by there alot, used to go there a few times.. and ive never seen anyone else there, or cars parked near HT. it was like the cars were parked closer to the salon next door.

The old guys went out of business. They never sold crap! Just a row of chained down display of every vehicle. At least you could look at every vehicle though since they never really sold any! My daughter bought her Wheelie King from them though before they closed. They did give her a really sweet deal

RC Unlimited is still the only place in town to get any parts. D&J don't have anything good but some weathering sets for scalin' and paint! LOL - I love em though! Was just there at 4:00 to get some lexan paint

Andy also still owns Sheldons, I was talking to him the other week AJ just runs the place and sends his daddy a check. RC Unlimited is a good place to shop for the hard to find Tamiya Hilux parts.
