Shock setup

I am new as well and I was looking for a little more info. I realize the specifics matter from truck to truck, but in general I bet most folks set up suspension to a sorta similar end result. I bet most Trophy Trucks are set up totally different, but I bet they all rebound more similar than not. Most dirt bikes are set up differently, but get through the whoops about the same.

So, in general how the should the truck react...should it rebound very fast, but not fast enough to upset the chassis? Should compress and stick low for a minute? Should it resist compression all the time? Is it different for each class as the courses get more or less challenging? OR does it really matter all that much how it reacts because it is SUCH a personal thing.

Just answered your question yourself mate "thumbsup"
It is personal preference and also varies A LOT rig to rig. But in saying that if you have a RTR to have a base set up to work from.

But you can have 2 rigs exactly the same with 2 different drivers, and they will both most likely have different shock set ups. It depends on diving style as well.

If you drive faster on the rocks you will most likely want something that reacts faster through the suspension cycle. If you're a slow & steady kinda person, you want to reactions to be slower.
Again saying that i know guys that set their rigs up to react slow and they drive fast. Simply because they like their rig that way.

Just have to say this quote is so wrong it's scary. You look at joe schmoe novices rear end go through a fast whoops section then compare it to the way an experts looks. Better yet take 2 identical bikes, set one up correctly and just do random stuff to the other and see which ones faster around the track. I realize this isn't really related to the original question but I thought it needed addressing.
