Shootings Today At Virginia Tech

it's not the gun that kills,it's lack of respect.

I have to agree here just for the sake that it will be blamed on the gun but none of the other details matter cause it boils down to stupid person kill inecent people that had a full life ahead of them. my prayers go out to all of the victoms and families.
guns dont kill people - stupid f****ng people kill people

Totally agreed, what makes me sick are the people who try and benefit of events like these, eg Jack Thompson

wow but a tragic day. I found out alocal girl is going to school at VT hope she is ok! And my blessings go out to every one andthier families. I understand what loseing someone close is like : (

Alan Ladd said it best in Shane:

A gun is a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

not to change the subject I just have strong opinions on this matter. yes a gun is a tool but "its" not bad when used wrong the person using it is. Like the axe, or shovel they all can be used wrong but its not the guns, axe, or shovels fault it was used in an improper manner.

I forget who said it here on this forum, but I agree:

"guns are the reason for violence, just as spoons are the reason for Rosie O'donnell being fat"

paraphrasing of course, but you get the jist."thumbsup"

how about we shut up about whether guns are right or wrong! what the hell is the difference. explosives are illegal and people still use them. technology is out there, whether or not you want to believe it, that can allow anyone to produce a firearm out of a damn ball pen or explosives out of a pipe and some common household chemicals! I hate when people use a tragic event like this to point fingers on a long going dispute. You might as well say that if post trimester abortions were legal then he wouldnt even be here in the first place to kill 32 people. Makes just as much sence as saying guns are bad or good. Im not going to sit here and watch 12 year old kids try to argue a topic that they cant even support without going off of other people's opinions on the internet. Sure its fun to jump on the bandwagon, but that just makes you that much more of a fool.

The point of this rant is that 32 innocent people died. 32 people had the opportunities of living their dreams. 32 people, who will never get to have the same chance at life we do, were cut down by the ruthless lead shots of a psychopath. 32 dedicated people who had their hopes SMASHED by some derranged killer. How about we focus on the families of this massacre? Bitching about the legality or safety of guns will not help anything, but rather cause unnecessary commotion. There are 32 families out there RIGHT NOW AS YOU READ THIS, suffering a pain we will most likely never feel; a pain so intense words cannot describe.
Ponder on this thought that right now, as you are reading and interpreting these words, tear drops are falling and hitting the earth we live on because innocent people were slaughtered while trying to achieve a higher education, to make a difference in this world that we live in. If you cannot feel the least bit of sympathy for these families then i feel sorry for you because you have no heart.
ALSO, bring your hearts to think about the killer's family. they are also suffering a loss. do not blame the Kid's actions on them, either. They did not kill the students and professors, he did. We cannot jump to the conclusion that they are the root source of this. I have no doubt in my mind that they are ashamed and facing public criticism for their son's actions. Any mature person can realize this.
You may not agree with this, and i dont expect eveyone too because there will always be that one small minded group of people who want to take somthing as tragic as this event and manipulate in thir favor for their own gain.
