I just was looking over craigslist again searching for a decent project car to start on..

an I came across a 1975 alfetta sedan 5spd.

5 spd trans in the rear like a new gtr.
perfect interior.

its only missing the front grill emblem... :(

its up for sale for 750 obo! should I get it??????

A cheap European car is like a free boat. You'll end up sinking all your money into it and then get frustrated and sell it for a nickel on the dollar just to be rid of it.

Alfas are renown for being horrid little rot boxes.
Proceed with extreme caution.

:flipoff: the alpha spend the money on rc "thumbsup""thumbsup"

My 1:1 toys have been getting all my extra money... it's been really fun, challenging, frustrating, and rewarding... but just like rc, I have too many projects! lol

But I gotta say, I absofukinlutely love driving my old p.o.s's! ;-)

alfa's can be a rot box only if you let it. welding is easy. por is your best friend. undercoating makes it look good.

and im picking it up sunday :)

im having a hard enough time finding replacement parts for a damn 2000 camaro.
no way id want to try to find 1975 alfa parts in America.

not meaning any offense... but junkyards. its sad.

and as far as the alfa goes... Italy. or anywhere else in Europe. hard to find parts yes... but its worth it! "thumbsup"

Wash it, Wax it, Dump it ............. Only two places Alfa's are good to be seen are your local once a year car show and the flat bed.

or in my garage with a nice high gloss black finish... with.. this is gonna hurt a purist but... a ford 2.3 lima that's stroked and poked. and a ranger rear end. or better yet.. a mercur x4i rear end.

haha. but it will be hard finding a t5 with a 4cyl shaft. that's the only problem.

ill drive the alfa till the motor goes though.

CAUTION!!

Sounds like it could get expensive quick....good to look around on the Alfa forums to get an idea of value/demand, I just sold my super clean 1985 Nissan 720 4x4 ST, its been in the family since 86'....

Got this one on the block too:

Honda Civic EG 92' Si

.

I think it's still a nice deal, should be fun :)
