Well I have two sets of DNA beadlocks, one set of Snipers and one set of Thrashers. I didnt like the little bit of extra weight that the Snipers added to the rear and realized when I had the Thrashers on the rear that the truck could do climbs and jumps a lot easier. The extra weight of the Snipers allowed the truck to crawl very smoothly but I liked the way the lighter rear acted.
So, I contacted MTHEAD and talked with him about what he could do. Here is what we came up with. He channelled the Thrashers to lighten them up and also made me some delring beadlock rings.
Here are the Thrashers. Total weight with hardware but no foams/tire is 2.4 oz
Now for the fronts. I decided to use the Snipers since they are heavier. I got my buddies lead melter (used to make bullets) and filled in the holes the best I could. Total weight of the wheels and mounting hardware is about 7 oz
And here they are with MTHEAD sexy beadlocks rings (just need to get some new 4mm locknuts). I also got some new body panels. I used a stock TLT body. I just need to back it with one more coat of Tamiya Copper, a coat of black to back, and then sticker the thiing up.
