Simplicity

Damn! He read it.

Hey, I cannot see your battery, which means it is higher up in the chasssis under the body, which means it is too high IMO. That being said from the rookie.

I have been working on my new battery location and finished it this weekend and I think it turned out perfect! The battery could not be any lower unless you mounted it underneath the axels.

I am sure you did a great job of mounting the battery, I hope you don't keep it a secret for ever, since you have innovated some great TXT mods.

HAHA!
That is where you are wrong Badgy! I have two mounting points for the battery on this truck. One is higher up in the chasis for clearance while running in more level but larger rocky terrain. IT is still lower than the original mounting area. The other is below the chasis for extreme inclines and off camber terrain. With a quick change, I can have the ulitmate in adaptability!!!!!!!!!!!!

another cool part of this truck is that the motor sits up front, adding weight where needed.

Mr Digly,

While that is a great idea. What good does that do in a competition? If I remember correctly you cannot change anything during a comp. Does this not fall in those rules?

Between "sections", we have alway been allowed to make changes. People have changed wheel bases, ride height, etc....this is the same type of thing, I think.
I guess it will depend on the rules of the comp.
I noticed that the guy that won the Moab event had a variable ride height.

even with the battery in the higher position, I have no cg problems. this truck likes to stick on everything and works amazingly well.

Interesting. Did not know that.

Don't you have some VP work to do? :flipoff:

See, thats the thing about being VP, once you've given enough head and moved up the corporate ladder, it just doesn't matter anymore :flipoff:

Looks good dirk! Simplicity is good, moreso if you can stick to it, unlike most of us

LMAO! I guess I will never be a VP.

Problem is....I had to switch companies to get from Director... to VP. I don't deal well with ass kissing either.

So...after 3 days of testing now.....here it is!!!

I challenge anyone! Clod, Shafty, Kongs.....anyone... and any truck!!! My new truck CAN NOT lose......to anyone. I know this is some pretty big shit talkin but this truck rocks and is unstoppable!!!!!
It is...hands down....the best performing rock crawler I have seen to date.....PERIOD!!!!! BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O 8O 8O :flipoff:

Man I wish I was closer to see how far off my TXT is from yours. I feel mine should be really capable with my new battery layout, but not serious shit talking capable like yours.

How about a "Body Off" shot of "The Rig Formally Known As TIGHT SQUEEZE"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
If you wont give us any naked shots then how about some specs!
Wheel Base
Belly Clearance

Harley...when I replied "no".....that was to your question.

As for specs, it's all the typical stuff you'd find on a very capable TXT based rig...15.5 wheel base, 4 inches belly clearance, etc.
I will tell you what formula I used for success:

I have not done as much trial and error on any truck as with this one. I took my time and tried things over and over and over again. The biggest thing I experimented with was weight placement. I was building my rigs so every ounce of weight was shifted to the forward portion of the truck. This worked.... but what I found was that more balance was even better. You'll notice that the 1:1 comp trucks are putting much of their weight in the center of the truck. The engines are appearing behind the driver, in fact....and almost sitting on the ground. So what I really worked on was getting the perfect balance of weight from front to rear and even side to side. Once I got the motor, tranny and battery placements correct, I worked on other minor areas, such as electronics. I also cut the chasis so it was completely symetrical and then balanced weight from there. Then I played around with weight in the tires and mounting location of the body.....which will be mounted even lower soon! When I was done....I looked at the rig all put together and you can see a big imanginary "V" where all the weight is placed. It took weeks of trial and error to get it perfect but what came of it all is a truck that is very, very tough to get onto it's lid. It climbs as well, if not better than any Clod I have seen. I can hit stuff at speed, on the throttle, off camber...and it will not roll over. The tires, with their new side lugs, bite on everything and rarely lose traction!
In short....I ran my obstical courses many times this weekend, perfecting the truck. As you all know, many of us have run these courses and they are very tough and take many attempts to get past some of them. Some are almost impossible to tackle without stacking up some points by hitting flags, etc. This truck took on every obstical with ease. I rarely had to back up and start again. I never rolled over once! I didn't keep my own score but I went through the whole thing and I don't believe I ever hit a flag, backed up too far or made any other mistake that would have earned a point!!!
I have found that weight placement may be the MOST important ingredient in crawling!!!!!

I'm starting to get used to "digglereze forum language" so let me analyse this statement: :flipoff:

okay, when we whip yer ass you'll say "well I said the "truck" was unstopable, I suck as a driver"

So when and where is the comp? Forell is down for some more shaft slayin!

Actually I hope it does good. I'd really like to see a shaft do well. If it does all you say it does on MGT's then I'm truly impressed!

I do suck as a driver but this truck is sooooo good, it makes me look good. You still might woop my ass in a comp but it will only be due to the pressure! :flipoff:
I am as surprised as anyone with this truck.
As for the MGT tires: I always like them and thought they performed very well but I have learned that the proper weight placement of the entire truck will greatly affect the way a tire hooks up. The MGT's on this truck perform better than anything else I have tried, hands down!
Of course, I have to do my share of trash talkin and boasting just to make it all fun!! :flipoff:

This may have already been asked, so sorry if it has, but Dirk do you run foams in your BFTs at all? They seem to look like they conform to rocks real good, wheras mine with foams don't.
