I assume above is what you are doing and the picture with the tip on the size was just some rc porn. Just curious "thumbsup" Are you simply tightening down the allen head or is it more of a shear think and needing force applied? Now that you figured out how to cut the tire, now I want to see you work your magic and make one that cuts them off a glued CF wheel haha.
Kinda sorta. It helps me to align the two surfaces and then apply a drip of glue that wicks into the crack. Not as pretty as your method. The socket cap is to press the plate onto the sidewall with a lot of force so the sidewall does not move at all while cutting. Hence the thick chrome steel. The softer the rubber the more it wants to buckle in front of the blade when cutting. I'm lost with CF sticker-wheels.
I know everyone has there own method and glue used. I personally use AKA Tire glue, its the best stuff I can find. I've cut and shut many many sets and never had an issue. I do sometimes add some to the inside of the tire joint, but only when the two tires jointing edges are highly different. Sounds like we need to move the jig talking to the tire section lol. Sorry to fill your thread Joel.
D-Wray suggested a while back that I use the AKA product and I just haven't tried it. The 406 was Jake's suggestion and what he used during Boss Claw prototype development. 406 is what I went with because McMaster (McBastard per JeremyH:lmao

Damn Joel!! Very nice work..makes me want to try a set.
Go for it man. They look cool, not sure how they drive yet though. Hope to knock out the other three tonight to be ready for a CI delivery today or tomorrow.
