Rear RCBros antigravity gears installed

Update:

I installed the rear gears last night on a brand new RCBros locker using green loctite. Everything assembled nicely but the case didn't close that last few thousands of an inch. It's the spades on my axles that need to seat that last little bit. I lubed them with Mobil1 synthetic red lube drove them for a little bit. They sound smoot and definitely have less slop than the partially warn stockers I was running. I use oversized pins in my 2nd and 3rd (press fit) and they fit the grooves on the gears nicely with just a little wiggle. Time to drive them.

Fronts going in in a few weeks.

Thanks again William.

kinda old topic, but regarding your single pic per post problem... Perhaps your file size is too large and RCC could have some data size limit per post?

The problem has to do with using the google photo editor. Once a pic has been edited it will be replaced by the next attempted upload. Any pic that is in native state will not be replaced by the next attempted upload. I don't know how to get around this. Furthermore I can't remove the images from a post, I must re-post from scratch or the photos will still be there regardless of whether I try to delete them or not. To make matters worse If I copy and paste text so I don't have to re-type everything, the pasted text pings the 180000000 word alarm and it won't allow me to preview the post. So, I'm stuck with one (edited) pic at a time with no second chances without a ton of work. It averages 45 minutes of pain in the ass per post with pics. It didn't use to be this way.

Anyway. To another problem. Heavy (albeit absolutely bulletproof) rear axles. Enter grade 5 Ti.

Someone will make clear plastic motor cans soon enough. Hang in there.

Finished my axles last night. They came out pretty darn good. Remarkably stiff. Weight savings vs previous axles is 26.17g. Hopefully I'll get my rig buttoned up over the next couple of days so I can see how it feels. I'm waiting on a part from the YTC SkunkWorks too.

You never cease to amaze me! Keep up the good work. Someday I'll get a machine like yours, I could entertain myself for hours.

Looking good Joel! You sure are getting good with the etch-a-sketch "thumbsup"

Fluted and gundrilled, nice work Joel "thumbsup"

I'm not sure they are gun drilled. Looks to me like they were center drilled so that they can be supported by a live center.
