We all need to slow down in our lives. Love the ones we care about more. Turn the phones off while we drive. Hell we can tear ourselves apart with things we should probably change.
In a blink of an eye you could lose it all. We don't think about be we take it for granted all of the time. My fiance was a personal injury paralegal for car accidents for over 20 years. She used to get so mad at me when I would use my phone driving, roll a stop sign, or just get impatient trying to rush places. She was one who would use a Bluetooth speaker if she had to talk while driving but normally would just ignore the phone until she stopped.
On 12/3/15 she called me travelling between her 2 jobs since we hadn't seen each other since going to bed the night before. Missing each other I talked to her since we did everything together. What happened I will never forget. I can never undo and as surreal as it all was it is what I have to live with. She pulled on the highway after stopping for several minutes not seeing a van getting our civic hit by 2 cars ripping it in half. I will never forget the scene and all of the images. I will never forget the instant silence of the phone.
I beg for those that get behind the wheel to turn off your cell phones. I can't undo what has happened but will never forget the sound of her last breath or the sound of impact as she was travelling between her jobs. I didn't get to see her that morning since she didn't like to wake me up before work. She was very excited about telling me not to make plans because we were going to take Jaxon (our son) to Storybook land since Christmas was her favorite holiday. So hold you friends and families closer than you ever have turn the electronics off because in a blink of an eye you never know what will be taken from you.
I know through this community over the years I've made some great friends and have become distant with most as life happens. I don't want anyone ever to go through what I'm dealing with now. I know a lot "know" what they would do but in reality unless your in the shoes you don't know shit. Remember life goes by way to fast and to enjoy each day as if it could be your last.
