We all need to slow down in our lives. Love the ones we care about more. Turn the phones off while we drive. Hell we can tear ourselves apart with things we should probably change.

In a blink of an eye you could lose it all. We don't think about be we take it for granted all of the time. My fiance was a personal injury paralegal for car accidents for over 20 years. She used to get so mad at me when I would use my phone driving, roll a stop sign, or just get impatient trying to rush places. She was one who would use a Bluetooth speaker if she had to talk while driving but normally would just ignore the phone until she stopped.

On 12/3/15 she called me travelling between her 2 jobs since we hadn't seen each other since going to bed the night before. Missing each other I talked to her since we did everything together. What happened I will never forget. I can never undo and as surreal as it all was it is what I have to live with. She pulled on the highway after stopping for several minutes not seeing a van getting our civic hit by 2 cars ripping it in half. I will never forget the scene and all of the images. I will never forget the instant silence of the phone.

I beg for those that get behind the wheel to turn off your cell phones. I can't undo what has happened but will never forget the sound of her last breath or the sound of impact as she was travelling between her jobs. I didn't get to see her that morning since she didn't like to wake me up before work. She was very excited about telling me not to make plans because we were going to take Jaxon (our son) to Storybook land since Christmas was her favorite holiday. So hold you friends and families closer than you ever have turn the electronics off because in a blink of an eye you never know what will be taken from you.

I know through this community over the years I've made some great friends and have become distant with most as life happens. I don't want anyone ever to go through what I'm dealing with now. I know a lot "know" what they would do but in reality unless your in the shoes you don't know shit. Remember life goes by way to fast and to enjoy each day as if it could be your last.

Damn, that's terrible, especially this time of year. Very sorry for your loss.
I try to ignore my phone as much as possible while driving, after reading this, I'll try harder.
My sincerest thoughts and prayers to your family.

I have no words, not that they'd matter much anyway. But, my condolences, and I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

It saddens me to hear that Brian:cry: my condolences to you and your family.
May we all learn something from this in our fast paced society, slow down and be smarter about decisions we make while driving, nothing is worth a life or injury. And hug your loved ones and tell them how much you love them because we just never know...

I'm sorry for your pain you are having. Love your son remind him of his mom and live strong. Cherish the days as they come. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Im so sorry for your loss, i couldnt even begin to imagine what you are going through.

I know how you feel bro. I lost my fiance Dec 11th 2014. I went to bed early an was woken up by her dad in a panic. Last time I got to kiss her was on a kitchen floor as I was the lucky one to do CPR for 25mins waiting for the ambulance. Some things you just gotta do. Everything happens for a reason. Its been barely over a year an I was lucky enough to find an awesome woman. Now the new date is next summer. After a few weeks I took it as a lesson and them little fights an the BS that use to get me upset doesn't anymore bc it can end in a blink of an eye.

If you would like to talk just Pm me. Theres alot of people on hear to talk to. I also received alot of support from RCC aswell

I can't even imagine.... I live in a pretty rural area and am fairly guilty of using my phone to talk to my wife while driving home.... Never about anything that's important enough to take such a risk.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your son.

Well for the most of my life i have been slowed down, but there is a fjew exemptions.

Not slow when working.
For the most not slow while driving, but this have changed within the past 10 years.

For 3 decades i was pretty slow due to me beeing a damm pothead, but in that regard i am back up to speed.

Edit: I can see i missed out on thread topic, sorry for your loss Namesake.

Smartphones never bothered me, proberly due to only a handfull of ppl have my number, and they all respect me not to call me unless its very important.
To me there is nothing more frustrating than a phone call where i just sit and go ??????? why did you call me dumbass ?????
Or why did you call me about that ????? i can not do anything about it.
Or when my little sister have called me for relationship advise ???? me who last had a girlgfriend 3 decades ago. HTF am i qualified to give advise in that regard.

So there is little chance of my phone going off while i drive, and if it do it get ignored as i HATE ppl who is on ther damm phones while driving.
Have 5 dashcams in my car, so any one driving like a idiot near my car ( including myself offcourse ) go strait to youtube as calling the cops on them sadly dont work where i live.

On average i get about 1 text every week, and maybe somthing like 5 e-mails a day due to me beeing slow to unsuscribe from things.
Looking forward to the day i can trow my current phone avay, before i got it i whent 10 years without a cellphone, and that was pretty damm nice.
As for regular calls i get about 3 every week, and on average i make the same i think.

Now if i could only win a little lotto money so i could slow even more down, and only have to interact face 2 face with other dumbass humans once every week or 2, and get a little house with a 1/4 mile ( at least ) to my neighbour.

I think i would do just fine in the state of Alaska, just need money for food and stuff as i will only be shooting for "fun"
Trapping and hunting for food is too much damm work for this "snail"

With the price of a fjew dollars for a BT headset its ppl like this that screw us all over.

1 illigal Left turn
2 phone in 1 hand cofee in the other
3 another phone junkie
4 phone in 1 hand cofee in the other
5 guy with kid in pram, walking on mittle of road ( before i start my car to move it ) with nose in smartphone, 30 secondss later he was walking on the road again still looking at his damm phone.
And as you can see there is sidewalk on both sides of the road.
6 car beeing all over the road in front of me, most likely allso a driver on the damm phone.
