Has anyone had a chance to pu these to the test? I noticed RCP has them to order and I was wondering if they are worth getting. I haven't read thru this whole thread I was just wondering if anyone had any info off the top of their head. Thanks!

Well I finally got my rig built for Nationals and I finally got to test out a set of the Losi Rock Claws. I was able to test them out on our Bootleg Canyon proving grounds.
I mounted them up on 1 1/8" narrowed Axial beadlocks. They pulled in nicely and gave them an overall 4 3/4" tall profile. I was pretty stoked at the way the side wall blocks stuck out and looked really aggressive.
Out on the rocks at first they were a bit slick due to the newness of the tires. After getting them "scrubbed" a bit they hooked up very well. They have a unique sound to them much like a real bogger on rocks so it made for a unique driving experience. I mounted them up with the straighter side of the lug forward to try and see how well it grabs on climbs. I was pretty impressed with how it pulled the rig up nicely. It seems to pull on ledges and jagged rock very well. I would like to try them running the opposite direction to see how they would differ.
Side hilling was a big surprise. With the lateral lugs you would think that they would wash out a bit but that was not the case. They held very well. The side wall lugs work very well. Had a couple of instances that I was able to lip the front wheels over a ledge and was able to use the side lugs to pull me up.
I will be playing around with some other foams to see what effect it will have on them. I would like to run them backwards as well to see if the design alters performance. I would have to say Losi has done a great job providing us with a wonderful tire. This is one that will definitely will be in my comp arsenal.

Thanks FrankyRizzo! I know u weren't dircting that specifically at me but this is exactly what I was fishing for."thumbsup" Great write up and I do believe I'm gonna get some and I will also be mounting them on some Axial Wheels (not narrowed though) also. Thanks again!
FrankyRizzo, why did you prefer the narrowed axials with the losi's? I have 2 sets of axials, one set is narrowed and im not sure which i want to try first.

It was a set I already had. I know a lot were "complaining" that they were not tall enough so I opted for the narrow Axials to see how they would work pulled in. If I had to do it again I would opt for a slightly wider rim. I have another set that I am going to do so I will post the results up then.

Update!!
Remounted them on the Sinner wheels I have. I added 2 Oz's in stick on wieghts and used some memory foam I picked up locally. The seem way more pliable and tend to grab more.
I can't wait to try them now. I will post up some pics later.

I climbed up some sick a$$ sh!t today!! With the memory foam these things are amazing!!!! Thanks again Rich and Losi for a bad a$$ tire. This is going to be number one in my arsenal with my moab/ masher hybrids in second place. Now on to the pics. I got some closeups of them working the rocks.

Franky, just curious, what was the performance difference in running them backwards?

I have seen these TL Rock Claw 2.2's mounted in both directions (just like people do with the Moabs®) on different trucks. I Know it's personal preference but is there a forward (correct way) to mount these or are they intended to be omni-directional?

These tires are bad azz. The hook up like no other. I climb some stuff the other day that the only people that could follow were the one's with the same tires. Im going to buy these tires intill The come out with a new rock claw. Which is going to be a while prob. Wish I had these tires for the comp at Moonrocks.
I run them the standard way they are intended to be run, some run them backwards. I don't think it'll make a big difference either way.
