snowcat wheels/tracks build

2158a5cf8fbd10d868f1a971909edaa5.jpg

Here is after the Christmas run when my son got his blizzard. I live in Texas we had 78 degrees on Christmas day. We do get snow on occasion and when we do its bad but not much this year.

Preparing for the second season. I got Mad Torque dual ESC and RC4WD Predator Tracks.
By the way, these tracks are quite heavy and very hard to spin, as opposed to Blizzard, which can be spun by one touch.
I don't use mounting connectors, so we'll see how it will work.
It move slower than wheels, so I have to use different types of motors.
I have tried to use sub-transmission with 2:1 rate, but it creates too much pressure.
I also have another body, which I got for the interior, using it to make some kind of trailer or a cabin.

Thanks!
j.krug Steering with double wheels was really difficult, as well as with skis, it works only when the truck is moving.

This thing is pretty badass! But I'm wondering why you "waterproofed" your motors... brushless motors are waterproof by their very nature.

MiteyF I used to work with brushed motors and trying to improve what I have, maybe it would be useful in the future.

Snow is collecting very fast. A day of waiting and it may be not ridable until spring.
I tested the new tracks. They work well on a plain snow, I think it will be perfect on ice.
There were times when it worked fine, and times when it overturns all the time.
Maybe combination with the the Blizzard is the reason.
It is always interesting to try new things, but if you plan to use the tracks, keep in mind that it can be capricious.
It also works fine without mounting connectors.

You may think that using four motors discharge the battery four times faster, but it is not.
I spend almost as much time as I always did.

Here is a link to the file that I printed.
Switch language at the bottom if the page is in Russian.

You may need to sand the bottom of the model after printing, or not.
I made the bearing hole slightly smaller so it fits for sure, so a thin layer of material needs to be cut.
