I have had several 1/10 scale rally rc's .. and love them all .. but nothing ,.. nothing beats the hpi rs4 rally . rc rally legends ,any Tamiya ..seen or owned them all .. rs4 is just a bully ..beats the dirt up,sand, mud , water , all up.
I have two .. one perfect never ran and one beater .. parts are not the easiest but can be found..and the car is realy strong and dosnt break to much.
many hpi rs4 evo 3 parts and under are close if not the same .. as far as hubs and things ..other than that ebay is you best friend

I will get some pics of all my rally cars up soon .

Thumbs up. I do love RS4 Rallys too.

yeah when I can post pics ill start a thread on how to maintain and sorce parts that keep them on the dirt and not the shelf.. best handling and ground clearance out the imo
and a brushless with a two speed on it is a mind blower lol

Got one collecting dust. It has mostly been converted over to a touring car but still have all the parts to go back to rally minus a body.

So has anyone found a good alternative to the battery hold downs on the RS4? I was looking at something similar to the R31-16FM style battery holder (basically a U bracket) but I was unable to find a place to order them separately.
Here is a picture of what I'd like to try to find http://www.broadtech.hk/eagleshop/Image/R31-16FM-KIT-LB_2.jpg

I've just been cutting mine so the hard case lipo wiring fits through but I'd love to find something that works better. Anyone have any ideas?

my 6000ma post style works just fine .. just used body reamer to make two holes for the posts

I was actually thinking of using something like these: Q-KS52 - Alloy Battery Holder

My plan was to only use one in the front of the battery, drill holes in it that line up with the battery brackets and mount them with 3-5mm stand offs.

They should do a pretty good job holding the battery in place and I could use a velcro strap to secure the battery against the bracket or more stand offs with tab on top of them to lock the battery down. I haven't figured out the tab/lockdown part yet although a simple threaded rod and a scrap piece of aluminum should work just fine.

I'm currently using a 5000mah Duratrax Onyx battery and it just barley fits in the brackets (they bulge out when I lock them closed) . I also have to notch the plastic to allow for the wiring and so far I've had one set of hold downs crack under the stress of the whole situation.

I'm probably going to order a few of those brackets and see what I can throw together. If it is acceptable I'll post all the parts I used in a thread of some sorts on here.

im starting to look for another one ...I want to do a full built 2 speed brushed one..prob using firebolt hpi system .. cant find one yet

wooohoooo .. just got a chassis , parts ,body and two two speeds from rctech .. cant wait to get them to the house .. im going to have my buddy make me a photo buckert thing so I can share pics

Nice man.

You should just use imgur.com to host pictures. It works great. Free to join and all that jazz.

just picked up a evo 5 ..rare as hell still nib and wraped in factory shrink wrap ...that makes 6 complete rs4 rallies ... just need evo 6 box to make my collection complete {knowing that ill never find a 206 or corolla box }

I got one of these RS4 rallys from a buddy for free, needs a lot of love, a few parts, electronics, full lube job, body, cleaning ect...

Any idea where to get a rear upper link mount, possibly something interchangeable from another car, part 4 and 5 on part# A489, Looking for passenger side.

Also need rear body posts, any ideas for something interchangeable.

Everything else I've found, spring pins, dog bones, belts, hardware under tray, ect...

Don't know if anyone is interested but on eBay a company called team blue grove makes the underpan and the inner cover with the driver figure. Very reasonable and excellent quality. I just picked up the upper piece and very happy with it. Can't wait to get it painted.
