but im wanting to order the VP case, pinion gear, 4mm ball ends, lower link. then some gears..

yea, i have $100, but that will just be barely clear enough to get the stuff from CKRC. then i got the CI links. hopefully bribing works. :ror:

like is the VP motor plate really nessecary when you did the bearing mod?

When I got the case I also bought motor plate. You know, just to have everything that VP makes for the truck.

Some of the guys say that when you mod your own plate there's a chance the hole you reamed out is not centered properly. You can always try the case w/o motor plate and then if that works you don't need to spend money on the plate.

you dont need the motor plates if your bearing didnt fail i thought they did..all you need is the hard gears i bet. and you need to get some t1e lowers they are sick! and uber cheap.

well. shawn is right, there is the possibity of bad centering.

IMO hard gears arent really worth it for my type of crawling.. well... i like trying to suicide jump my kit.. but... :roll: well im not running 4s and 35ts like some compers. so that may be one of the major reasons why i havent gone through gears that badly.

lucky the plates are the most reasonably priced item on there...sorta... did you see how much the new servo guard is....:shock:

I'm running Novak black can 45Ts with 14T steel gears.

Yeah motor case/plate with oversize bearings should be able to make stock gears last quite awhile.
