I wanna be Dave
In my many years on this forum I've learned a lot about 1:1 off-road rigs and how difficult they are to design properly for safety and bragging rights.
Like all youngsters first thing I built was an scx10 which I later found these deep chevron tread mud tires off a broken record I was able to soak in wd-40 for a few hours to soften them up and glue them to some wheels on my self waterproofed rig. Since that time every scaler I buikt needed to be water and mud proof as best as possible while still as scale as possible.
I got pretty good at the ins and outs of Axial parts, VP parts, Holmes motors, Waterproofing my own servos and receivers....well I came across a brand new set of HPI Wheely King chevron tread tires mounted already on some 2.2 plastic wheels.
Too bad there's no foams inside the tires. Should I bake them and stuff them with something? They are super squishy and air does come out when you squeeze them.
I'm using axial beefed up axles, bucket proof axial tranny, question now is which chassis. I'd love to use the Crawler King's TVP chassis like a real bigger but their planetary tranny and 48p gears will not hold up.
Any Other Ideas? Chop up an scx10 chassi?
