Spent some time at the range yesterday

Ok, for my daughters 10th birthday I picked her up a PINK .22LR Crickett rifle. Crickett makes youth rifles, great for learning curves. Well we got to the range yesterday and of course it was the first decent day in almost a month around STL so everyone and their 3rd cousin was there on the rifle range sighting in stuff or practicing. So we ended up on the pistol range shooting at the steel plates they have set up there. Fine with me, she can hear it hit the plate and she likes that LOL

Up until now she had never shot a rifle, pistol yes, rifle no. So there was a little learning curve. After about 10 rounds she was hitting the plates consistently. What impressed me was its a 6 inch plate at 50 yards :mrgreen: after those first ten she sent another 90 rounds down range, only missing a few at the end. She was getting tired and was pulling shots.

That is good to see. I went to the range on Friday and put a few rounds thru my AR 15 and my Judge.

I have that same .22 Remington Range Master. It was handed down from my Granddad. That is one accurate .22.

Got mine for $75 at a gun show, Dad got for my 12th B-Day.

I look forward to handing it down, and it is a tack driver for sure "thumbsup"

The other guys on the line got a kick out of she got excited when she heard the ping of the plate.

my dad got me a gun almost every christmas for 4 or 5 years my 2 favorites are the remington 870 mag and the black and stainless ruger 10/22. i shoot the ruger the most its lots of fun. wow now that i think about it the last time i shot a gun was goose season!

thats cool man, my first was a 20ga remington 870 when i was 12yrs old. used to bird hunt with it a lot.

My dad did that with his 10 gauge and ak47. That kid was nervous.

I love the old dad "cleaning the gun" trick except im 21 and have a few myself, I went to meet my girlfriends parents about 6 months ago and her dad tried that trick and I pulled my tauras slim line from the my concealed holster and told him I shot back he laughed and said well atleast my daughter is in good hands!! :twisted:

How can you guys afford to waste ammo at a time like this? Seriously, I live in Tucson and the shelves are bone dry. There is no waiting list. No back orders. Every shop and every location, out of stock. Online is nearly as bad. Good luck trying to find anything other than wolf. And according to every gun shop and dealer Ive talked to, its not going to get any better. Why take away our guns when they can just take away our ammo? Wake up america. Shit, sorry to hijack the thread. My bad.

Waste ammo? I have 10,000 rounds of .22 stock piled (not as much as it sounds) so shooting couple hundred rounds .22 cost me all of $9, hell you can get 525 round boxes of 22LR for $19

I also reload .223, .243, .30-06, .38, .357, .454 casull, 45 Long Colt, .45ACP

Last time at the range with my .45 shot 200 rounds, pick up all my brass and then some. When home with 300 cases they are in the pile of cases to be cleaned.

Nope, but I can take a couple. There is even a breach block/lock on it as well. A brass pin that can be pushed up from the bottom locking in place blocks the breach and prevents the bolt from locking up.

We (me and my dad) have a 1911 we converted to .22LR that the kids shoot. They love it.
