Spur gear help

So I'm getting back into trail trucks after a few year break. I picked up a gently used wraith poison Spyder. I've already ordered a Titan 21t and will likely be running on 3s with a bec. What 32p spur gear are you guys using without upgrading the slipper? I've searched and searched. I've found everything from duratrax, Kimbrough, Traxxas, axial gears. What's the direct bolt on for the rtr Spyder? Also I I'm looking for the largest that can fit into the gear cover without modifying. Part # would be helpful if possible. Thanks guys!

I put the Axial steel Yeti/Bomber spur with the bearing on mine. You’ll need to trim a little on the cover where the jump for the driveshaft is located so that the teeth of the spur can pass. Any larger than that won’t fit.

I believe it was this one here. They do a 68t also.

Here’s the 68t.

How about a plastic gear? I don't believe I'll need steel. Thanks tho

Anything 64t and smaller. Make sure it has the same style slipper profile. Some Wraiths came with 48dp so make sure yours is 32 also.

Mine currently is a 48p. I'm trying to convert it to 32p without upgrading the slipper. There's so many spurs and the all look different. No clue what will fit.

Have you removed the slipper and spur to see what style it is?

This one is a circle slipper pad. The one I linked before has a 6 sided pad. This one also attaches with a pin through the shaft.

Here’s yet another that has two flats on the shaft.

Yes I have. Its completely stock with the 80/20 gears. Stock spur gear AXI30665

Hi,

I'm running a 48t 32p spur Duratrax*#DTXC9397 with 11t pinion.
Cheap and durable!
Don't look at the motor. It's been changed.

Disregard all I said. It’s a 32p 60t spur and is as large as will fit.

Trim here.

That gear will not fit my slipper. That's not the slipper that comes on the rtr poison Spyder. Thanks tho

That’s why i posted both styles as there were two. 60t is as large as you can fit without contacting the driveshaft.

Have you removed the slipper and spur to see what style it is?

Ok this isn't going anywhere. I'll just order a bunch of different manufacturers spurs and trial and error to see who's fits the stock slipper. Thanks anyway guys

I’m still not understanding what exactly you have. I’ve posted up several styles that Axial used and stated that anything over a 60t won’t work.

Do you literally want me to try to spoon feed you with a link to what you want not knowing what you have?

Would it be too difficult to post a pic of what you have? Or at least find a fleaBay item of the same setup and I can base a decision off of that?

Okay, just to clarify. Info direct from Axial Poison Spyder manual. Spur should be AX31027 - 32P, 54T. The pinion should be AX30724 - 32P, 13T (3mm shaft). And, can you confirm the tranny is in fact a Wraith tranny?

So, from what I understand, your Spyder has 48P gears which means someone before you changed them. Not knowing what 48P parts were used, you may need to replace what you have with all the OEM Wraith tranny spur and slipper parts to make everything work. Might reduce the frustration and be easier in the long run.

If you haven't looked at an Axial manual, check out

http://docs.axialracing.com/instructions/ax90031-i001-wraith-poison-spyder-jeep-rtr.pdf

Look at pages 16 and 21

Unrelated to the spur/pinion issue, you may have to hack the interior up to fit a Titan 21T motor in.

Kimbrough has spur gears that are a direct fit. I have a 54 tooth 32 pitch kimbrough#129 on one of mine.
