dont worry imma buy new shocks lol or take the springs off till then."thumbsup"

so im havin some problems with my link setup. installed with the link/shock mounts in their normal position, the driveline is at a bad angle, that makes it so it dosent roll as smooth. prolly just a little more stress on the motor. then people said just rotate your link mounts to extend the lower links a little. i did that and it did straighten the driveline but now the drive line hits the rocks before my links. any suggestions on what i should do? heres some pics. thanks guys. i thought about moving the link to the lower hole but dont think that would help enough.

left is the shock mount in normal position, right is it on its side.

im still having the same problem with my driveshaft hanging below :-( anyone kno a way to fix it?

well the only problem with my shafts hanging below the links is almost every rock i went over it caught on  so ill wait for the new kit to come out and hopfully they will sell the parts serperate..a guy at my lhs said that the price for the kit is going to be $80..i hope not

I havent noticed a problem with the pinion angle with the mounts at the stock location with my STRC kit. I would rather have a little higher angle than have the driveshafts act as sliders... if you think the extreme angle puts extra stress on the motor, what do you think having the driveshaft sliding across a rock does?

i think that you could turn the shock mounts where the actual part that the shock mounts into faces away from the chassis if the small aluminum piece was a little longer..now i put some thought and research into this but i believe if u use the upper links fron the rc4wd kit with the strc links u can turn the shock mounts and the shafts wont be lower then the links..becuz if u think about it the only reason the shafts dont hang below w/o turning the mounts is cuz the upper linkis longer then the links so it turns the axle some and puts the shafts at an angle to where the shafts dont hang below the links..now i havent tried this yet and i want to get some rc4wd upper links and try it so ill let u guys kno unless some else trys it before me "thumbsup"

I just installed the STRC kit on mine. I tried rotating the mounts BUT it made the shock travel less than I liked. I did like the way it looked though. So I put it back the way it was. But the shocks are mounted outside of the mount with a screw all the way through. So far my only problem with the kit is that it made my wheelbase 11.5in. I know all I have to do is shorten the upper link mounts but it is frustrating to get it all done and find out you just shortened it 1 inch. I had the HPI extension done before this.

^ yea thats why i said the upper link from the rc4wd kit should work if u turn the mounts

Dang I just bought these STRC links then I stuble onto this thread. I might be selling them.

The links are fine and work great when installed the way they are meant to be installed, the problem is that he turned the lower link mounts, effectively lengthening the lower mounts, but didnt lengthen the upper mounts, which rotated the pinion down. If he lengthens the upper link the same amount or rotates the lower link mounts back to the way they are supposed to go, the problem will go away.
