I have a old .15 T-Maxx that I put a brushless set up in, a 2400Kv using a 3s lipo 18t pinion and a 74t spur. The rear drive shaft is twisting at the yoke and the rear axle shafts are twisting ( one is alomst twisted all the way around ). Now don't get me wrong I'm pretty happy about it the power is "thumbsup" I found the first weak link in the truck I'm not sure what would be a good fix. The 1/8 scale axle and diff upgrade sounds good but I haven't found a roller on craigslist or Ebay yet. I kinda remeber someone using the 3.3 axles ( what would it take to use those ) and I found this on Ebay ( what do you guys think of these... http://www.ebay.com/itm/200734212061...=p5197.c0.m619 ). I'm happy with the power for now but I'm sure it'll increase before to long...

Also found this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Traxxas-4907...item2ec243fa73.

Your best bet would be convert it to the newer 3.3 A-arms and driveline, it will make it more stable and bombproof.

With the 3.3 the arms and axles are longer, I would like to stick with the stock arms ( really don't want to end up any wider ). Can the axles be cut down? Also are the 3.3 driveshafts any bigger - stronger?

The 3.3, or commonly called "Revo" shafts are much larger diameter and have many fine splines, as apposed to 4 coarse splines of the original. They require new axle carriers and larger wheel bearings.

You can cut down the shafts to fit, but you loose the little blue protective booty in the process. I've cut down a corner axle to fit as the front driveshaft in my E-maxx.

I recommend gluing the little stupid E-clips to the cross pins. It seems the only time I break one is because the E-clip comes off and allows the shaft to slide in and break the yoke.

The E-bay link for the arms/shafts/knuckles doesn't include wheel bearings, or turnbuckles, in case you didn't catch that. It's still a decent enough deal though, and lets you upgrade everything at once. The newer diffs are much stronger than the older ones.
