Interesting. Looks like this Tamiya 6x6 is becoming a thing.

Just saw this. It's pretty cool. Probably nothing I'd ever buy only because I don't have the room for as many RCs as I want.

I do wonder what the TR suffix means in the model name. I believe the Kong Head was a G6-01.

From the article:
* Modeled after off-road trials trucks
* Hub reduction axles for increased ground clearance
* Length- 453mm, width- 244mm, height- 232mm
* Special cab design by Takayuki Yamazaki of PDC Design-Works
* V-tread tires with 5 spoke wheels
* Optional rear steering
* Comes with a 540 brushed motor
* 1/18th scale kit

they list: 'Hub reduction axles for increased ground clearance'

Portals??

I cant see a ton from the photo.

EDIT: I just looked up PDC Design works and its fairly interesting http://www.pdcdesignworks.com/
there some RC stuff and 1:1 stuff, I spotted a 1:1 sand scorcher, just let the slide show on the main page roll and it will come up

I was thinking portals as well after you posted that list! Cool.

The PDC website does have some cool stuff. I like the matching scooter to go with the Sand Scorcher.

Yes, it has portals. Lowers the gearing as well for off road use. I may have to give in and check one of these out.

Those wheels and tires would be the first thing in the dumpster though.

Did you find any pictures of the portals?

Just the graphic on the box for now. Looks like a 4 gear design. Should bolt over to other vehicles as well - anything with a TL01 based suspension which is quite a few vehicles. Wouldn't be hard to adapt them to the front of a CC01 as well.

My gears are turning....lol.

Not sure how I missed it on the box! :oops:

All 4 gears? :lmao: I'm curious to see what you do with the portals.

I always wondered if there is anything cool at tamiya usa headquarters here in Irvine. Its about 2 hours north for me and about 20 minutes south for browneye.
I would go if there was cool stuff on display.
Hell I should just go anyway. At very least they have a SICK road course there!
Just gotta dial in my on roads so its not a wasted trip...

Those portals are rad!!!
Now they need to step up their game and give us a 4 linked, solid axle, capable (and tamiya scale excellence) crawler chassis!

The road course was in Aliso Viejo where their old headquarters were. That track is being shut down though, since they sold the land/didn't renew lease.

If they constructed a new road course at their Irvine location, I have not heard of it.
