The Tamiya Grasshopper was my first RC car and Sadly I sold it (1985?) and was the RC that got me hooked! It had a mechanical speed control, 2 servos, AM JR radio and was a blast. I always regretted selling it and I figured I might as well buy it again before they discontinue the Grasshopper Re-release.

I got the Tamiya 540 J Motor and a full set of bearings for my build. I know this is a pretty basic RC but I still love it! I will most likely keep it on the shelf in pristine condition. Who knows I might have to run it a few time before it put it on a shelf :)

That was my first hobby grade r/c car too! Back in the day, I quickly switched out the motor, replaced the rear shocks with Frog shocks, installed bearings, and upgraded the speed controller with either a Associated or something else. What a blast, and a great basher!
