Can I spray Tamiya TS paint over PS Paint? I want to shoot a clear over some PS paint (exterior part) and all I could find at my LHS in clear is the TS.

Thanks

You can use PS paint as a 'primer' for TS (or AS paints) on polycarbonate bodies - I've done this a few times, most recently last week on my CR-01 body..

Thats AS-19 Intermediate Blue over PS-12 Silver (including table salt mask !)

I've not experiences peeling issues, use as little TS/As as you can to get the colour coverage but don't go overboard. there is some degree of flex in TS/AS paints, its the adhesion to lexan they are lacking.

Yes, you definitely can. If I paint the body on the outside, to get a more realistic look to it, I simply use Tamiya matt clear as a primer, then acrylic spray over that, just like you would on a regular plastic model.

A good idea is to paint it silver on the inside, so any scratches on the outside look realistic.

I can't see why that would be a problem at all. Just make sure the PS spray is properly dry before you do it.

The blue is matte acrylic over PS matte clear on the outside. The white is glossy acrylic over PS matte clear.

I tried it, it works no problems as long as it doesn't start peeling off in use.
isn't the peeling off a good thing? Paint it PS silver or rust on the inside, then the truck would actually benefit from peeling off on the outside... imo
