Hey everyone, I have a TRX4 with the Proline Jeep body and I was wondering if anyone has attempted a Tamiya YJ on there. I know the axles would be pushed out and I would want to comp cut it, but I was looking to model my latest 1:1.

I just trying to decide if it would be TOO much stretch....

The 1:1 in question (side shot for gauging stretch):

I’m not saying it’s not possible, but would be quite a bit shorter and narrower. I can get you a pic of one sitting on a Trx4 Blazer if it helps when I get home from work. That is if it fits over my interior.

That would be awesome! I'm just trying to figure out if the shorter and narrower proportions would work out similar.

She is wide too, not just long:

I'm pretty sure the YJ has a 9.5 inch WB, So depending on your TRX4 WB it might look right...I know my K5 blazer body would engulf the Jeep body. Will snap some pics in the morning for you!

Trx is 12.3 YJ is 9.5, you would probably have to shorten the rear links a bit to get it just right, also cut the rear frame rails so they don't stick out but for the look you're going for I think it'll work

I hope this helps, but looks like way too much work. I think the Trx is closer to 1/8th scale. And Tamiya is known for fudging their scales a little bit as well.

Thanks, that helps a ton! Looks like the wheelbase may have worked out pretty good but the width is way off... Oh well.

Width of the axles in relation to the body actually doesn't look too bad when I look again, but seems I would have to hack up the floor pans to get it to fit.

I think it'll work, like I said you'll need shorter links in the rear, trim the chassis rails, floor boards should work with trimming, inner fenders would need to be removed, but axle width looks good.

Yeah, that wheelbase is looking pretty close. Hmm...
