tar marks

So I was driving my truck in my drive way, and I turned too sharp and rolled. Now there are any ways to remove the tar marks from the lean without damaging it?

I would imagine 2000 grit wet sand will do... but first try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. That thing is miraculous.

Just tried the magic eraser on my slash body that has tar all over the roof from rollovers and it came right off!! You can see a very slight amount of dullness in the lexan so maybe if you get some dish soap on the magic eraser and wet the area you're gonna clean first it might lessen the dullness afterward. Good call Arctic Fire!!

wd40 would take it off the stock car, it would take off the tire rings off the side too.

I use the magic eraser for everything, it really is amazing. I think it is just a fancy ultra fine grit sanding block, but man it's handy. How to get the shine back.. hmmm.... maybe try my other favourite thing.. Turtle wax. Like Mr. Miagi. Buff it off with a soft cloth, should work.

SOunds wierd, but I use Pledge on my 1:1 Jeep rear window Curtains (for like 10 years). It's magic. I also use it on my boat curtains, fills scratches. Should work on lexan too. It is really amazing what you can do to a foggy jeep soft top window with pledge. I recomend anyone with a 1:1 try it out, you won't be disappointed.

If not, Baby oil or mineral oil. My secret weapon on my guage clusters of old cars. wipe it on, buff it off, fills the scratches and leaves guage cluster plastic crystal clear.

diesel fuel will soften and remove tar. thats what the paving crew uses and the truck driver so it wont stick to the box of the dump. i dont know what the diesel would do to the lexan. wd40 wont hurt the lexan. as for a shine i used to use pledge on my 1/10 dirt oval bodys so mud would come off easy.
ford dealerships years ago used to sell a tar remover that was plastic safe, i dont know if its still sold by them or not. it was amazing stuff.
if someone had a scrap piece of lexan to put a few drops of diesel on and try it that would be the best thing no sanding to dull, minimal scratching and then the pledge to shine. with the pledge on there it also would allow less to stick in the beginning.
