Team Tekin ESC problem and advice.

1) I have a Team Tekin FX-R Esc with a 35T brushed motor. I have been really happy with the way the gear works especially on the very slow end where the control is top notch. What I would like is a bit more top end speed without loosing anything on the low end. Is this possible? I have the stock gearing that came with the kit and am running a 2S lipo. Any advice?

2) Having said the above I had a small issue whilst out Geo-caching today. I always take it with. Everything was working great and then all of the sudden I lost all throttle. I checked for loose wires etc but nothing was to be found. I turned the model off/on and the ESC light came on but no sounds were heard. I could not get it to work at all. I thought the ESC was gone. Got it home to troubleshoot but before I had to it was working again. I have ran it for 20 min and all seems okay now. Any thoughts?

Thx for your time in advance.

IMO:

1) Bump up your set-up to 3s, use the hotwire (worth the money), use the same 35T motor, keep your ratio to 4:1 to 5:1 (pinion/spur).

2) Gotta get a BEC, this was your esc overheating....hopefully you didn't heat damage the FX-r, but they are pretty tough. Use the Tekin to power/control the motor only, use the BEC to power everything else. Wire the BEC rx and let it pass all the amps to the servos, lights, winches, etc. Remember to unplug the red wire from the esc to the rx.

hope this helps.
