The Tekin Pro4HD 3500kv said its for 2S lipo
has anyone use it on a 3S lipo even though Tekin said its 2S
I have a MMP esc

Tekin recommends to run it only on 2s so you don't implode the rotor; if it goes too fast the magnets will fly apart. The electronics themselves could handle the voltage, but it would fail mechanically.

im running a 4000 and 4400 pro4 on 3 and 4s in my u4 rigs 5months of sheer abuse towards them and no failure yet. i wont say it WONT fail but it has not yet and my mzu4 has seen its share of water aswell with no issues. just be cautious as im sure its a ticking time bomb waiting to detonate BUT until then it sure is fun

I just got my Pro4 HD 3500kv mounted.. 4400mah of 4s thru it so far.. Doubt it will ever see a 3s or lower pack..

Had a Pro4 4000kv rotor come apart after a good amount of use on 4s. Not to mention all the other parts that came apart before it! ;)

Hence the HD and little lower KV.. I'm now a tooth taller on my pinion.. 56/13 now..

Sorry, but I believe you are incorrect. Per Tekin, only the 1850's will take 4s. 3000kv and below will take 3s, and the 4300kv and 3500kv will take only 2s.

I am to that point of Short Course racing for sure. I was referring to U4 & Rock Racing which is entirely a different animal.

My bad for assuming what the OP was using his for. I've been running my HD 3000kv on 3s & 4s without any issues at all. Maybe I'm fortunate. "thumbsup"

I understand that the Tekin ratings are intended for SC racing and that many people have run their motors on a higher cell count successfully, but I would not recommend the OP to run it higher than the ratings. These ratings come from engineers who determine the limits for a living, so exceeding the limits is just waiting for something to implode. Again, I understand that people have run them at higher cell counts, but I wouldn't give a potentially expensive recommendation based off of personal experience.
