The Chaotic Crawlers Mini Nino has been out for almost a year now and has dominated the mini class in Utah. And now with some changes the Mini Nino 2 is Here. This is the First of the First with hopefully more to follow.

My build Specs:
Losi Aluminum rear Lock Outs
Losi Aluminum Knuckles and C's
Losi CVD's
Losi Bent Links
Losi Aluminum Shocks
Lunsford Titanum Goodies all around
Novak 18.5 Brushless Set Up
Hitec 5955 Servo
Losi Bead Locks w/ Chisels

To Start off the build I started with the all new just released Mini Nino 2 chassis. It has been modified so that it can run a much more narrow skid over stock. The skid now goes under the sideplates to allow it to slide over rocks nicely and is only 50mm wide. It includes the two sideplates, skid, and 4 link plates all for a great price. The front four links is designed for a full size servo which most people seem to want.

I mounted my Chisels up to my Losi Beadlocks and used Lead pellets inside the wheels to make each front wheel 9oz exactly with tire. Then i cut up some foams for the rear to make them super soft almost as if they have no foam.

I Cant wait to get this thing built up and on the rocks. Its been a long time coming and im just totally stoked to have such a sweet looking Mini..

Stay tuned for Updates

So i got this beast up as a roller. I started it off using only losi bent links in the rear to see how i will like it. Then i used Lunsford Titanium tunrbuckles for the upper links. I went with 1 7/8" turnbuckles which work out great but a little longer would probably work good too. I used Axial rod ends because of the sweet bends they have with them. Really things bolted up so nicely i never even ran into any problems or binding.

For the shocks i like a real low stance so i went with the full droop setup. The rears i put 10 of the little black spacers included with the shocks inside each rear. I kept the 1 hole pistons on the rear and added 60 wt. oil. For the fronts i used a pen spring on the inside, the two hole pistons, and 30 wt oil. I added a piece of 5/16 fuel tubing on the bottom of the shock to raise up the height. I may cut those down as i test it.

Looks really good I always liked this chassis glad to see it get some updates"thumbsup" How thin is the chassis now compared to the OG nino?

The chassis and 4 link plates are still made from 1/8" 6062 aluminum. They are CNC laser cut and finished. The skids will also be CNC cut out of 3/8 delril then hand finished for that sleek smooth look. We are just awaiting them from our cutter and then they will be available as soon as possible.

Well I made quite a bit of progress on this rig. I started off by making some electronics plates. I made them from black styrene. I went with a small one up front to hold the receiver and a larger one in the rear for the Mongoose esc. Since i was mounting the esc so close to the motor i ended shortening up the motor wires. I also shortened the battery wire and removed the switch to clean it up a bit more.

Once i mounted the RX I instantly realized that he hitec servo had a super long wire so i cut and shortened that also. Since this rig is so small im trying to keep the wire clutter to a minimum. I used a spektrum 3100 receiver cause its pretty small and fit nicely in its place.

The hitec 5955 servo seems to have plenty of power to move these little wheels and its now set up so the first thing to hit is the knuckles on the axles. Tons of steering.

I have it just about finished up to where i thought id post up some full pics. I have been extremely satisfied with this build and it went much easier and smooth than i anticipated. Having never run a brushless in a crawler i cant wait to get it on the rocks and test this bad boy out.

I am torn on the battery to run so for now ill run what i have. Its a losi 600 mAh Lipo cube. Its now mounted to the rear axle and seems to sit there nicely

Few things Id like to finish is id like to drill the standoffs for top mount body posts and of course get my body painted up.

Future body mounted pics soon to come

WOW ARE THOSE TITANIUM BALL MOUNTS!!!:mrgreen:

you are ballin outta control!

I love it!

I got my body mounts all installed. I started by drilling and tapping the tube in the center...The the front standoff i ran two long screws into it thru the sides to make the standoff stronger and less likely to break.

Next thing i did i wish i would have known about for ever ago. I split the case on the Spektrum 3100 and tucked the long antenna inside and closed it up...looks nice and clean and still works great....Owe all of it to "TT"

Then i took a grappler body and hit it with a simple blue and black paint job. I cut the front to a point and did some other minor trimming but after tonight's testing i can tell i will need some more major cutting and also bending of the body.
