The final Frontier

I snagged this Nissan body off the 'bay a few days back and couldn't wait to do "something" with it.

SO I snagged another Touareg CC-01 and started hacking!!!

MY plan is tub front with frame rails in the rear. Leaf Sprung rear, with IFS front just like a real Frontier. Aiming to create a scaled version of what you might actually see on the street or on light trails.

Plans:
Tires: Mickey Thompson 1.55 Baja MTZ's (these scale out to 33" tires, something that would actually be ON a Frontier)
Wheels: uh 1.55's??? haven't found any yet that I just HAVE to use for the build. I'll figure it out.
Motor: I have a Tekin SCT 550 motor I might try stuffing in there just to break stuff! That's the first plan, will adjust accordingly
ESC: Tekin RS Pro
Servo: a Savox something or other... its a servo.
Shocks: G-Made Zero's

I used the stock lower links hacked up to create my leaf spring mounts. There's a whole lot of mismatched bolts and even more ugly going on right now that will all get cleaned up on final assembly.

The windows are getting cut out and I plan a full interior for this.

Hmmm.... That's the basics of my plan. On to the Hacking!!! Everything is being roughed out and mocked up currently. I'm sure I'll be changing a LOT (Leaf Spring mounts, shock mounts, LOTS of etc...)

I'm going with flipped knuckles to run servo direct up front. Anywho, some starter pics. I'll add more as I go along.

Got a little body work done last night. With 3 kids, a full time job and a farm that always needs SOMETHING fixed, free time is at a premium. So I'll be slowly plugging away:

Trimmed the fenders and removed the windows. I have some big plans, that will be super cool if I can pull it off, but may be beyond my capabilities. Only one way to find out though.

Off to a great start - didn't realize those bodies came with a cargo extender in the bed. the Baja MTZ's are a great choice, they tuck perfectly.

Some work on the interior during lunch break.
The speaker box will work, and scales out to be 18 inch "Subwoofers".

Its rough still, but getting some work done.

A little more, finished up the paint and Rhino lined the bed and fender flairs with a little assistance from one of my "helpers". Got my 1.5 aluminum rims with mud thrashers on. The Baja MTZ's were what I wanted, but with how the body was going to fit with the interior they didn't quite look how I wanted, so I went with the thrashers.

Some interior work done. Leather seats, console and stearing wrap. Not on the level of some of the awesome stuff I see on here, but I'm pleased.
